Make a Wish For Someone Else This Holiday Season
This post brought to you by Capital One. The content and opinions expressed below are that of Celeb Baby Laundry.
During the holiday season, we often wish for something. From happiness to losing weight, a lot of time our wish is personal in nature. Although, this is not always the case. After all the holiday season, is all about giving! We often have wishes for other people too. These wishes can be for a family member, a friend, a neighbour and even the community as a whole.
In the spirit of giving, I’m making a wish for someone else this holiday season. The most important wish I have is for my mom! We are very close and I’m proud to say that she is not only my mom, but my closest friend. That’s why I want her to be able to take some extra time to herself this holiday season and in the coming year.
My mom is probably the hardest working person I know! She owns a very successful entertainment blog and she’s constantly working. She works early mornings, late nights and weekends because her business requires her to do so for it to remain successful. To say, she is never to far from her laptop and cell phone would be an understatement.
My mom takes vacations, but she never fully disconnects from work. That’s why I’m wishing she gets to go on a vacation where she can totally unwind. One where she doesn’t have to worry about what is happening back home and can totally clear her mind. Of everyone I know my mom deserves some time to fully enjoy herself.
Do you have a wish for someone else this holiday season? Is your wish for a family member, a friend, a neighbor, or someone in your community?
Capital One wants you to share your wish for someone else with them! Be sure to use the #WishForOthers hashtag when sharing your wish on Twitter, Instagram, or the Capital One Facebook page from Nov. 24 through Dec. 23 and it may come true with the help of Capital One.
Need wish ideas? Capital One asked people what they want this holiday season – and what they wish for others as well. The answers ranged from sweet and heartwarming to thoughtful and funny, all documented in a video that’ll get you thinking about your own wish for others.
Don’t forget to visit the Wish For Others website for more information and to see the wishes that other people have submitted so far!
My mum is exactly the same – I have the same wish for her every year.
Blogging as a business can definitely become and all consuming time suck. I hope your mom disconnects on her vacation
What a lovely idea, I think this holiday I would wish for my parents to just be able to relax and enjoy the time, it has been a long stressful year.
What a great idea! I am going to nominate my best friend. She has had such a rough, lousy year and she is such a remarkable person. I would love to see something extra special done just for her.
I’m normally a giver so when I get asked what I wish for…. I have a much harder time. Cute video.
Lovely video and great idea. I wish my mom will be able to relax and enjoy everyday happiness.
Now this is a great idea! I started thinking about who I could wish for, and I had too many thoughts at once LOL I guess that’s a good thing!
I’m wishing that many families in my area have warm, safe places to spend the Thanksgiving (and Christmas) holiday. I’m also wishing for peace for all. Not too much to ask for, right? 😉
What a wonderful wish for your mom. I hope she does take some quality time for herself. All moms need that.
Rest is important, especially from work. I struggle with this myself. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I’ve got my blogging stuff already lined up.
I love this campaign. I think my wish is for my parents to have the boat they want so much!
what a lovely idea to make a wish for someone else. I like when others get what they want or need.
There are so many people that I would love to make a wish for. I am heading over now to visit the Wish For Others Website.
What a nice idea. I no longer have parents but if my mom were here I would just wish for her to come spend lots of time with us! I don’t know who else I would wish for I would have to think about it!
What a wonderful initiative! Sometimes we forget that others are in need around this time.
I love the idea of this campaign. I can’t think of any material things for them but I wish my daughter gets the internship she wants and my son gets into the business school he wants!
This is a great idea. It isn’t all about the expensive, lavish gifts for family and ourselves. There are so many that go without.
That’s a lovely wish for your mom! She sounds a lot like my hubby, so I’ll take that same wish and apply it to him 🙂
I know your Mom and I think that would be very hard for her to do!! I like that you wished that for her though. Lovely!
This is such a nice thing to do – I will do this as well!
What a great idea for the holiday seasons. During this time it’s good to remember and do good for others.
Great idea! I love the giving back. We bought $5 gift cards the other night and I let my son give them to whoever he wanted as we walked downtown. It’s interesting to see who he chooses.
This is so thoughtful of you: wish for your mom. Indeed she is a very hard working person and some time off will be a great gift for her
I hope that your mom is able to fully unplug from technology during her vacay! She deserves it 🙂
I think it’s nice that you’re thinking of your mom for your wish. You’re lucky to have that sweet bond. 🙂
This is a great post. My wish is for my mom to get to see all her brothers and sisters for the holidays. It has been years since they all spent time together.
This is such a great idea! Wishing for others is usually overlooked during the holiday season, but I definitely have a couple that I’d like to make for my friends.
What a great post. Your mom is awesome at what she does and this is a really sweet idea.
