Tia Mowry Opens Up About Infertility Fears After Being Diagnosed With Endometriosis
Gracing the cover of Women’s Running magazine, Tia Mowry-Hardrict opens about being diagnosed with with endometriosis and staying healthy while being a mom.
Four years ago the Sister Sister actress was diagnosed with endometriosis, a condition that can potentially cause infertility. Her doctor suggested as part of her treatment she work with a nutritionist to develop healthier eating habits which would include cutting processed foods, sugar and refined grains out of her diet.
“Sugar was like a drug I was addicted to,” she told.
Being a busy Mowry believes running is the perfect exercise.
“Running is my go to workout,” she says. “If I’m traveling, I can just put on my shoes and go. It’s the easiest workout you can do.”
The mom of Cree also has advice for other moms trying to get back in shape.
“Start slow. Work out two to three times a week in the beginning. As you get stronger again, you can start working out four times a week, then maybe five,” she explains. “Set small goals, and only set new goals once you accomplish the small ones.”
