My Second Christmas With Ava
This will be my 17-month-old daughter Ava‘s second Christmas.
Last year, Ava was 5-months-old, so she had no clue what was going on. I ‘helped’ her open her presents and like most parents dressed her up to look cute as possible! Generally, a baby’s first Christmas is more about the parents and the experience of celebrating it with their child for the first time. The second Christmas is far more special in the sense that your child is so much more aware of what is happening.
Being a toddler, Ava is always on the run, wanting to know and be included in everything. So, naturally Christmas gets her excited. She knew something was different this month as soon as our tree was delivered to our house. She loved trying to put the ornaments on the tree and then giving them to me so I could place them properly. I think she spent three hours running back and forth without stopping once! The time just flew by and before I knew, it was 11:30pm. Lets just say my little munchkin passed out the minute her head hit the pillow!
Unfortunately, a day after the tree fell down. I was so shattered, but thankful that Ava was sleeping. I have had a tree every year of my life and this has never happened. From now on, I will always make my hubby double check the screws holding the tree up
I also took Ava to meet Santa Claus for the second time. When we got there Santa had to go to the washroom, so she ran around the santa setup smiling and giggling at everyone. However, once Santa came back her smiling quickly vanished! As soon as I put her on his lap, she got this look that said, “Um, who the heck is this? And why does he look so odd?”. Overall, she handled it pretty well. I have seen many pictures of hysterical babies with Santa this year on Facebook.
Right now, I am in the process of preparing for our Christmas Eve party. Christmas day we will see my mother-in-law, my moms family and my dads family, so it is a pretty crazy day of traveling for us. Meaning, the blogging won’t be as regular as normal. I will try to do my best to keep the updates coming though 🙂
I want to wish all our readers Happy Holidays. I would also love to hear about what you guys have planned for the holidays.
