Kim Kardashian Needs to Klass Up Her Maternity Wardrobe

So far we’ve known for about three minutes that Kim Kardashian is expecting her first child and already she’s demonstrating a tragic lack of maternity fashion sense. Baby daddy Kanye West has said before that he wants Kim to class up her fashion act. If you watch Keeping Up With The Kardashians, you remember the episode where Kanye cleaned out Kim’s closet to try to get her looking less ghetto and more uptown, but it seems he’s not keeping a close enough eye on his baby mama’s maternity choices because she looks a hot mess.

Kanye seems to want Kim to channel the grace and style of Kate Middleton, but I think we all know that’s aiming way too high. After all, Kim’s road to stardom started with a sex tape, Princess Kate started when she met her prince at St. Andrews College – quite a bit of difference. Kanye can clean out her closet but he can’t clean up her background or who she is. The whole Kardashian clan is less than shy and tend toward over-sharing, profanity and outrageous antics. He needs to set his sights lower and just work on her maternity wardrobe.

Kate’s not a good fashion role model for Kim because they are too different in body type. Kate is a willowy 5’10” while Kim is a compact, curvy 5’2″. No way will the same maternity style work for these drastically different gals. Instead, she needs to look toward some celebs built more like her that have enjoyed a stylish pregnancy. Consider Reese Witherspoon – at 5’1″ she’s even more petite than Kim and tends toward being a little hippy.

Reese was stylish and laid back throughout her pregnancy and is a perfect fashion style role model for Kimmie. Another hip young actress that could serve as a maternity fashion role model is Alyson Hannigan – the How I Met Your Mother star is only slightly taller than Kim at 5’5″ and rocks an effortless New York pregnancy style that would suit Kim well.

As a final recommendation, Kim K need look no further than her big sister’s closet. Kourtney Kardashian is just 5’0″ so she’s even more petite than little sister Kim and after two pregnancies has loads of stylish maternity gear she can gift her sister. Even if she doesn’t want to wear Kourt’s fashions, she can at least invite her to go shopping so she can advise Kim on her preggers purchases.

With Kim at the end of her first trimester, her baby bump is about to get outrageous. She needs a maternity fashion 9-1-1 right now! Kanye and Kourtney, please talk some fashion sense to Kim before she goes out dressed like a gestating train wreck again!
