Fans Notice Storyline Inconsistencies In Beyond The Gates/The Young And The Restless Crossover

Beyond the Gates spoilers indicate that while the crossover event with The Young and the Restless has offered some interesting scenes, fans have noticed some inconsistencies within storylines.
Time to unpack all the faux pas, down below.
The Cliffhanger Botch
As viewers of both CBS soaps know, The Young and the Restless airs before Beyond the Gates on CBS.
During the close of the Tuesday, June 9 show, fans saw Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) enter the canvas for Martin Richardson’s (Brandon Claybon) fundraiser.
The Moustache was going to act as the keynote speaker, and the event hadn’t started yet. There was word of a tornado and storm, but everyone fluffed it off.
Then, during the Y&R Wednesday, June 10 episode, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) showed up at the GCAC, along with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow).
The two were worried about the tornado that “hit” the DMV. She was concerned that Victor was caught in the storm.
Thankfully, he arrived shortly after that, assuring he left Martin’s fundraiser event after his speech, and well before the storm hit.
Still, he abruptly stormed off as he felt as if Nikki was more worried about her ‘friend’ Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) than him.
After Y&R aired on Wednesday, the storm officially hit Fairmont Crest during the close of BTG’s show.
Wouldn’t it have been a better cliffhanger for Victor to arrive back in town on the Thursday, June 11 show, announcing he was okay?

The Abbotts Are Alright
Speaking of Jack, he and his wife, Diane Abbott (Susan Walters), seemed very much in love at Martin’s fundraiser.
Was this just for appearances? This doesn’t seem like Diane’s style, considering she was irate with Jack for his one-night stand with Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) and the two are estranged.
To boot, Diane had been missing in GC the week before, so what’s up with that? Will The Young and the Restless be able to explain Diane’s MIA a week before, only to be seen in the DMV, only to go missing again?
It’s important to note that the two shows have different film schedules. Beyond the Gates shoots months before broadcast, while The Young and the Restless films several weeks ahead.
There’s a good chance the Y&R writers decided to stir up Jack and Diane’s love story recently, which would’ve been filmed after they shot their BTG storyline.
Daytime drama is a place to forget about your troubles, so may fans need to just “enjoy the ride” rather than nitpick?
