The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Diane’s Wrong Move Hands Victor a Cheap Victory

The Young and The Restless: Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters)

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters) was rightfully shocked when she saw what her husband was doing on the yacht Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) used to facilitate a ruse.

But Walters’ character is wrong to punish Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) after learning the facts.

Jack has insisted that he was drugged, but that hasn’t been a good enough explanation for his wife. She believes that even under an altered state, he should have rebuked Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk).

That fundamental misunderstanding shifts villain status from Victor to Jack, which is flat-out wrong. Viewers are wondering how long Diane will hold her grudge and whether she’ll blow up her marriage as well.

Patty Williams Is Delusional And Loves Attention

Patty is a misguided soul whom Victor took advantage of. It’s understood that Jack and others label her as evil. But her mental health history confirms that she can’t control her worst impulses.

Jack naturally can’t see the comparison between him being drugged and Patty being used. He quickly bowed to Diane’s outrage at the Genoa City Athletic Club when she strenuously told him that Victor can’t be blamed for what he did.

The above is the exact rub Victor wanted. Meanwhile, Patty couldn’t care less. She’s likely created a delusion where Jack’s marriage ends, and she reconciles with him.

Her need for attention is childlike, and Jack is also unable to control what she might do next.

Victor Newman Takes The Win

Victor is miserable at this moment in the storyline. He’s lost his company and is lashing out at whoever is in his path.

Jack had nothing to do with Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) conning Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn), chloroforming him, and stealing Newman Enterprises using the artificial intelligence program. Regardless, Victor decided to vent his anger against someone whom he, like Diane, held a grudge against.

The Young and The Restless: Victor Newman (Eric Braeden)

There’s no denying that seeing Jack and Diane split has warmed the cockles of Victor’s heart. The phrase that ended the last sentence has been used by Braeden in dialogue on multiple occasions through the years when Victor verbally berates some intended target.

Viewers know that Victor’s heart must be measured with a powerful microscope because of its minute size.

Diane Jenkins Abbott Can Reverse Course

Devoted fans recall that Diane and Jack conspired to make everyone in Genoa City, Wisconsin, including Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), believe they were battling in the recent past. That same game isn’t being played now, but it could start at any point in the future.

A great strategy would be for the Abbotts to settle their differences, including Kyle, and the other members of their family, in a needed next step. No one, most especially Victor, needs to know that Diane and Jack get back on the same soapy page, but when that happens, their rapprochement can be utilized.

Victor broke the law and morality. He needs to face discipline and daytime justice that Diane and Jack would be happy to deliver.

An alienated Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) has already told Jack that she’s willing to help that happen. Viewers will see if or how that happens.

  1. […] Salacious Y&R spoilers make it seem that Victor and Diane are going to stage a sex party scene in her GCAC room and have Jack and Nikki find them. Because an eye for an eye. What are the chances this goes sideways? It’s not like Victor and Diane haven’t done the horizontal mamba before. […]
