The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Victor Takes Control As Matt’s Influence Puts Nick At Risk

The Young and The Restless: Victor Newman (Eric Braeden)

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) took charge of the Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) situation that was again spiraling out of control. He, along with Sharon Newman (Sharon Case), Noah Newman (Lucas Adams), and Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun), persuaded Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) to turn over this nine-lives villain.

Matt’s faked his death once and escaped due justice on numerous occasions. His attack on Sharon should have resulted in decades behind bars, but it didn’t. More recently, his dealing of illicit substances should have put him in a federal penitentiary, but Nick intervened and intended to be a vigilante until his family thankfully prevented that outcome.

Victor plans to handle Matt once and for all, with fans wondering if this is the last go-round for the character Howarth is killing.

All Hail Eric Braeden Now And Forever

Braeden turns 85 in April. This tower of strength, who has endured serious health issues head-on in recent years, continues to play the lead as evidenced by his famous alter ego appearing in continuing major storylines, including this one.

As devoted soap opera fans, even beyond Y&R devotees, know, Braeden joined Y&R in 1980. His debut storyline had Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper) recruit Victor to help her run Chancellor Industries in the years following her beloved husband’s untimely death in 1975. She was the cause of it and intended to kill herself in the same car accident, but lived.

Christian Miller, which is the birth name of the character Braeden, has portrayed for more than four-and-a-half decades, rebranded himself as a victorious, or Victor, new man, Newman. He was introduced to his soul mate, Nicole Reed (Melody Thomas Scott), by his friend, Colonel Douglas Austin (Michael Evans), at The Bayou, where she was a dancer. Their love story, family, and Newman Enterprises became daytime history.

The Young and The Restless: Matt Clark (Roger Howarth)

Matt Clark Can’t Be Long For The World?

Howarth signed on to the cast, which was quite the coup for this show. His lengthy runs on other soaps, most recently including General Hospital, teed up a likely stellar projection, and this superb actor has hit the mark hard.

So, rather than have Sharon identify Matt at The Shadow Room in Los Angeles, California, and then quickly have the Newman family capture him, a lengthy pursuit occurred. Appreciative soap fans everywhere have been applauding ever since.

Howarth’s intense performances and snarky interplay are so satisfying. It would be great to see his run extend indefinitely. But how can that be since Victor plans to permanently end Matt’s ability to put his family in danger?

Nick Newman Made A Free Will Choice

Saying that someone triggers another person can be a cliché or, in some cases, an excuse. Nick is a human being with free will and is in control of himself and whatever choices he makes, which includes allowing Matt to sit behind him in the car when he was intending to make him disappear in the woods.

Matt is mentally disturbed, which is why he remains a threat. He is reckless, and that is why he was involved in selling illegal substances, a bag of which Nick happens to have.

Here’s hoping that Nick doesn’t suffer a life-threatening or altering issue because of that bag of drugs. Victor can put Matt in a private prison or send him to the authorities, but that might not preclude Nick from also becoming collateral damage in what has been a vicious return war between these revived enemies.
