General Hospital Spoilers: Will Dante’s Proposal to Sam Change the Way He Feels About Lulu?

General Hospital: Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna)

General Hospital spoilers report Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) popping the question to Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) wasn’t the next scene everyone saw coming.

We expected that Sam might never wake up from the surgery. We expected that she was going to face an unexpected complication that spurred her exit from the show.

Instead, she’s looking at getting hitched to Dante as the capstone to her longtime run on GH. But will Sam see this proposal as completely genuine — or as a means for Dante to make peace with his guilty conscience and shore up their relationship as he grapples with the way he still feels for his ex-wife?

General Hospital Spoilers — Not How Anyone Pictured It

Sam certainly wasn’t expecting to wake up from surgery and find her boyfriend at her hospital bedside with a ring in his hand. Doped up on painkillers and trying to reconcile that she had just been under the knife, it was still a happy surprise for her.

But the fans have a different perspective. As far as Dante knows, Sam isn’t going anywhere. So why the proposal right now of all times? Was this really the most romantic way he could do this? Is it a genuine proposal, or is it some sort of thank you for trying to save his ex-wife?

GH Spoilers Suggest the Wedding Won’t Happen

Although these two may happily consider themselves engaged, that doesn’t mean they’re getting married. Given that there are no complications with Sam’s health and she’s slated to be released from the hospital soon enough, there’s no way they’re planning a hospital chapel wedding.

Instead, the wedding plans will never get off the ground with Sam’s cruel fate lurking right around the corner. Will losing his fianceé make it that much harder for Dante to process Sam’s death?

General Hospital Spoilers — What About Lulu?

With Sam ready to kick the bucket and Lulu due to wake up anytime now, fans are trying to piece together how Dante might really feel about both of them.

It’s clear that he may be in love with two women at the same time — even though the love he has for Lulu is more of a memory than current. But the chance to pick up where they left off could be enticing in his mind. Yet, in the wake of Sam’s death, it may only make him feel guilty.

If Sam’s death occurs as a side effect of the surgery, that’s all the more reason Dante might blame himself for even supporting her going through with it to save Lulu.

Will he feel differently about Lulu if he feels her life ending up costing him the one he was going to share with Sam? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to find out.
