Katie Logan Spencer (Heather Tom) hasn’t been able to enjoy a moment of success. That’s happened because her oldest sister and the Forrester family refuse to accept what Logan has accomplished.
In short, Katie leads an emerging fashion house that has twice stolen Forrester Creations’ legacy thunder.
The exclusionary Forrester contingent can only point fingers and cry foul, rather than look in the mirror and admit that they’ve been outplayed.
Eric Forrester Tops The List
Eric Forrester (John McCook) didn’t deserve to be punched in the face by Will Spencer (Crew Morrow). But Katie and numerous others at Logan didn’t deserve to have their reputations smeared by Eric on the disastrous live stream interview that followed FC’s online Couture rollout.
As devoted fans recall and Katie has repeatedly said, Eric pursued her after he was unceremoniously ushered into retirement by Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye).
Brooke backed that decision, feeling, like her husband, that Eric’s health was being endangered by his continued work for the family fashion business.
The Forresters have been deflecting ever since, loudly sassing Katie and assigning blame to Bill Spencer (Don Diamont). Of course, Dollar Bill is an easy target, and he loves receiving the incoming.
Bill Spencer Recognizes Publicity Value
The social media debacle that resulted from the baited interview Eric took part in should have never happened. Maybe it wouldn’t have if someone with Katie’s public relations skills was at the helm.
But FC decided that Katie should be sidelined after giving her what began as a compassionate work break.
That happened after Luna Nozawa (Lisa Yamada) died and the Spencer family needed to deal with the emotional fallout, which included the impact on Will.
Now, months later and after escalating fights, Bill sees that FC has handed Logan an immense gift.
The value of publicity received by Eric’s outburst is easily worth millions of dollars, and the heightened name recognition Logan received is immeasurable.
Katie Logan Spencer Deserves Better From Brooke Logan Forrester
Brooke doesn’t hold Logan naming rights. Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) allowed the copyright to lapse.
Katie wasn’t legally or morally barred from working outside of FC. Ridge and Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) are equally responsible for her having been available to build Logan.
The Logan sisters are as far apart as they have been since Brooke cheated with Bill while Katie was married to him. Tom’s character never forgot that betrayal and sees years later that Brooke retains a strong duplicity strain.
There is no sign of a resolution ahead during what has become a long, hot summer in the LA fashion game.
