Sleeping Dog is a new documentary and you need to know that it’s not a sequel to the movie of the same name that dropped on Netflix in 2023. That was a crime thriller and it preceded similarly named Sleeping Dogs starring Russell Crowe in 2024. Completely different, the new documentary brings central figure, investigative journalist Jeremy Corbell into the spotlight. Read on for more details.

Secrets About UFOs

Jeremy Corbell has a lot of secrets and they involve Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAPs). Don’t get confused here. If you don’t know, it basically means the same thing as Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs). In it, the filmmakers claim that leaked classified documents from the Los Alamos National Laboratory help to prove the existence of alien life on earth.

Per Contact In The Desert, Corbell explains how UAP information was “long kept hidden.” Well, you don’t need a hard sell to get UFO theorists interested in that. But, does it bring new light on a vast government conspiracy of silence? Certainly it seems to, and that’s perhaps why the documentary was filmed in secret.

People In The Cast

Sleeping Dog was directed by Michael Lazovsky, best known for short movies that won awards during his career. Maybe you recall his recent horror movie titled Juliette Wasn’t Invited Tonight. Starting out with an old-fashion camcorder, he eventually went on and studied hard to become successful with short films like Magdalena.

The movie’s not just a series of unclassified documents, because it also takes a deep dive into the life of Jeremy Corbell. It’s not his first time around the block with UFO-themed projects, and back in 2018, he was heavily involved in Bob Lazar: Area 51 & Flying Saucers. Plus, he helped expose Bob Lazar’s claims about reverse-engineering alien technology. Actually, Bob Lazar features in Sleeping Dog as well. Other folks in the new exposé include

Astronaut Dr. Edgar Mitchell, Col. John B. Alexander, John Lear, David Grusch, nuclear chemist Edmund Storms, Cmdr. David Fravor, journalist George Knapp, and more.

While President Trump talks about a UAP file drop, delays mean that the documentary might drop ahead of no doubt heavily redacted files.

The Synopsis

The Sleeping Dog website explained the synopsis of the Midnightbrew Production documentary as follows:

An unprecedented documentary following investigative journalist Jeremy Corbell as he steps into a high-stakes fight to uncover the truth about UAPs. With rare access and insight, Corbell dives deep into a subject long kept hidden, where the stakes of exposure have never been higher…

Premiere & Where To Watch

Unfortunately, you can’t watch the new documentary about UFOs on Netflix. Various dates arrived about the premiere, ranging from May 11 through to May 25. But most sources note that Sleeping Dog is set for a theatrical and digital premiere on May 15. And, the trailer on YouTube confirms that date.

As for where you can watch the documentary, it’s going to be available on Apple TV, Plex, and Hulu.

Reactions Ahead Of The Drop

When the news about the documentary hit Reddit, not everyone jumped for joy about Jeremy Corbell. Several of them recalled how angry he became when Representative Nancy Mace credited journalist Michael Shellenberger for delivering his documents. In fact, he later talked about it in the premiere of another UFO film.

One commenter on the platform thought that he displayed way too much ego. Nevertheless, others will watch the new documentary. Here are some of their reactions:

  • Another Jeremy Corbell production about Jeremy Corbell!
  • I find myself actually being annoyed by this, it screams of narcissism. There’s absolutely zero reason why he should be making a documentary about himself…
  • Corbell has a big ego but he has done a lot [for] the UFO community. We would be miles behind without him and Knapp.
  • I’ll watch it! I enjoy his content.
  • So he’s been sitting on a UAP vid showing multiple UAPs for 11 years? With this kind of buildup, it better be good.
