The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Phyllis Pushes for More Help & Cane Finally Starts to Crack

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) stunned Genoa City, Wisconsin, and the world when she took control of Newman Enterprises.
Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) don’t agree on much. But they can commiserate about being beaten by her.
As fans recall, Cane’s artificial intelligence weapon was intended to allow him to take control of Victor’s company and GC’s other legacy businesses.
But the connection to Phyllis, which he sought on multiple occasions, resulted in her stealing the AI program and giving it to Victor.
Victor’s belief in his invincibility was short-sighted. He didn’t know that Cane had a poison pill embedded in the AI tool. Once engaged, Newman Enterprises was gone.
Victor Newman Underestimated Everything
Victor believed that going to the south of France last summer was worthwhile. He wanted to meet Aristotle Dumas after being outmaneuvered by the mystery man in recent years on some deals.
Cane’s invitations were part of an elaborate setup, as he believed Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) would be impressed. She wasn’t, and the reaction has impacted his life in immeasurable ways ever since.
But Victor lost far more than Cane. He never expected the man he considered to be an amateur and his late, con man father to have created the momentum that caused Newman Enterprises to be stolen.
Victor never thought Phyllis, whom he considers to be a conniving fool, would have crossed Cane and him simultaneously to become the head of the renamed Summers Conglomerate.
Phyllis Summers Has One Friend
Lauren Fenmore Baldwin (Tracey Bregman) delivered. She accepted Phyllis’ offer to help her run the company she heads.
Viewers continue to wonder why a theft of the magnitude that Phyllis pulled off hasn’t led to an arrest, criminal charges being filed, and a massive lawsuit. They know that Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) filed a complaint with the federal government, but nothing’s come of that since.

Asking viewers to believe that Victor would only pursue vigilante justice and not also go through proper channels is rather preposterous. But that reality has allowed the plot to flow into this deep storyline river.
Cane Ashby Recants Outburst
Cane saw that the woman who was the only true love of his life was hurting. Lily said that she needed to talk to someone, but that he wasn’t that person.
Hopes of helping her father, Malcolm Winters (Shemar Moore), were dashed. She learned what Stephanie Simmons (Vivica A. Fox) told Holden Novak’s (Nathan Owens) revealed father.
Lily isn’t a candidate to be a bone marrow donor, but she wasn’t going to share that very personal news with Cane based on his recent outburst.
That moment with Lily might become a flashpoint in Cane’s redemptive storyline. If Phyllis overheard what Lily later said over the phone and relayed it, Cane would be armed with intel that could allow him to support Khalil’s character.
Telling Lily that he could see she was hurting is a start. This one-time couple feels far from over, but more drama will need to happen before the Ashby family probably reconciles.
