Prince Harry and his legal fight with newspapers in London went on for some time now. But, a recent news item brought a rather different angle that made some folks mock him, or laugh about the lawsuit he started. Read on for more details.

Outted By Messaging

Recently, the High Court heard details about some texting that went down on Facebook. Apparently, it happened way back in 2012 and it involved a female journalist. Why is that important? Well, if you don’t know, as part of his lawsuit, he claimed that he didn’t have any close relationship with journalists. Actually, he’d also cut off ties, supposedly, after he discovered her career.

Oh dear! Certainly, it seems that he was rather close to her because, per The Sun, he used some very playful nicknames and references from the time they spent together.  Actually, it might bring a bit of a blush, if that’s even possible. After all,the whole world saw it.

In their article about it, the outlet revealed that allegedly, Prince Harry called the journalist “sugar” and told her he missed their “movie snuggles.” Right! Now, that more than likely explains why Associated Newspapers didn’t settle anything out of court. Notably, it all came out during the publisher’s defence about allegedly unlawfully collecting info about the prince and other celebs.

Naughty Memories

The messages involved Charlotte Griffiths, who these days, works as an editor-at-large. According to court proceedings, the two met through a mutual friend named Arthur Landon, back in 2011.

To the amusement of royal family watchers, the texts showed that Griffiths called the Prince an “H-Bomb” and “Mr. Mischief.” Well, that could also make Griffiths look back with a shade of red, but it did show that clearly, they enjoyed a bit of a naughty time back in the day.

Why It Matters

To recap briefly, Prince Harry sued the news outlet because he claimed they invaded his privacy. Notably, he claimed he didn’t associate with journalists. Hmmm… clearly, he did.

The whole defense of the media outlet lies in what they feel are nasty allegations of hacking or other unlawful means of obtaining information about the prince. However, it certainly looks like the messages came back to haunt Harry and show the outlet in a way better light.

Podcaster Has Fun With It

Naturally, when bloggers found out, it became a hot topic. On the Outspoken podcast, Dan Wootton seemed thoroughly happy about the development. While he described the situation as a “disastrous final day” for the Prince, he carried a laughing tone as he talked about the “intimate personal and highly embarrassing” nature of the messages.

Wootton suggested that “Harry is insane” for taking someone he had a fling with to court, especially when the evidence shows him “goggling” at her in the past.

If you don’t know, the lawsuit trial ended but it’s not likely that Prince Harry will be forgotten when it comes to the “movie snuggles” and “sugar” comment. As for the outcome, you’ll have to wait a bit. The Sun noted that Mr. Justice Nicklin said that his written judgment could take some time to come out.

Viewers React

You bet your life, people were always going to comment on the messages, and they certainly did, in large numbers. One of them penned, “This is FANTASTIC!!! 😂 Mr. Mischief has been BUSTED!”

Here are a few more responses from the discussion:

  • So now we know why she was so pro Harry, until he took her to court and lied about her.
  • No wonder Charlotte Griffiths is always pro harry, and attacks the Waleses at every given opportunity.
  • Harry is the very definition of perjury! Now let’s see if the British courts Do Anything about it!!!
