Counting On alum, Jill Duggar Dillard and her husband, Derick Dillard were involved in a car accident a year ago. As the kids were with them at the time, TLC fans felt relieved that nobody died. However, she gave an update on her injuries ahead of the weekend. Will they sue the driver of the other vehicle?
On Friday, an update on Instagram revealed a photo of a damaged car. Then, the former TLC star explained that the whole family underwent a lot of physiotherapy and suffered injuries that seem common with being rear-ended.
In her post, she explained, “It’s been full of lots of scans, physical therapy, chiropractic and doctor appointments for all of us as we continue to evaluate things.”
Plus, it seems the injuries were caused because according to her, the other vehicle, driven by an “unlicensed driver,” hit them at “full speed while we were stopped at a red light.”
Elaborating, Jill Duggar also said how “grateful” she felt because God protected them. Of course, many people related their own experiences with rear-enders. But a few of them wondered if they would sue. Mainly because of her talking about evaluating things.
While Jill Duggar didn’t reply to that, she did mention something soon after the accident. In a Q&A, she told one Counting On follower that she felt grateful because Derick Dillard is an attorney.
At the time, she said, “We are trying to figure it out, thankfully I have a husband who is an attorney… makes my mind rest at ease a little bit better.”
So far, it’s not clear whether she and Derick Dillard actually sued anyone, and it seems she’s ignoring suggestions that they did. But, when people claimed the car’s picture that she shared didn’t show much damage, she responded by saying that the photo was of the other car.
That came when a TLC fan quipped, “Tell me you are suing without telling me you are suing.” However, Jill also noted that their own car “was totaled.”
Of course, it’s not uncommon for people involved in accidents to sue for damages and various types of hardship suffered. Perhaps there’s a case behind the scenes. But for now, Jill seems particularly tight-lipped. Of course, that only makes some folks convinced something’s happening about it.
In the comments section, while part of the conversation drifted off into the rights and wrongs of lawsuits after a wreck, others simply felt happy that the entire Dillard family survived the crash.
While we can’t find any record of a lawsuit, it’s possible that Jill Duggar Dillard referred to an insurance case. What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments below, and come back here often for all your Counting On cast news and updates.
