Michelle Kwan, Olympic Medalist Welcomes 2nd Baby Girl

Michelle Kwan is well known to those folks who love figure skating, and the Olympic medalist announced this week that she welcomed a second baby. Like her first child, Kalista Belle, (3) her new baby is a girl. Read on for more details.

Many people had no idea that the California Sports Hall of Famer expected another baby. Certainly, she seemed to keep the whole thing quiet. But then, when baby number two arrived this week, she went all out on the details in an Instagram post.

After sharing some pregnancy pics and a photo of her newborn child, Michelle Kwan wrote a very moving caption. She’s delighted with her Christmas baby. In part, she told her many followers that she named her little one “Della Rose Kwan.”

Plus, she talked about how special it was when Kalista met her little sister. “Watching my daughter walk into the hospital to meet her baby sister brought tears to my eyes,” she wrote.

Fertility Problems

If you don’t know, Michelle, who started figure skating at a very young age, struggled with fertility. So, the arrival of a second child feels like “a miracle.” After all, she tried for a baby for years. She added her appreciation of “the incredible doctors and support team who helped make this miracle happen.”

Getting here again has been its own rollercoaster, and I’m endlessly thankful for my love, who I’m so lucky to share my life with.
