The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Holden’s Advantage Over Kyle In The Race For Claire, What You Need To Know!

The Young and The Restless spoilers and updates tease Claire Grace Newman (Hayley Erin) has been caught between Holden Novak (Nathan Owens) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) for weeks.
This week, Claire sees that Holden’s wild lifestyle might not suit her, but she isn’t ready to settle down like Kyle wants.
Why Holden Is The Best Choice For Claire
Holden is the better choice for Claire, and she should pick him over Kyle, even if Holden is a bit wild.
After Claire ended things with Kyle, she went to LA for a break and got to know Holden as a friend. Claire left Genoa City mainly to escape Kyle, and the last time she needed space, Kyle proposed.
So this time, she left the state-of course, Kyle followed her to LA to try to bring her back, claiming Holden is bad news. Claire got upset when Holden revealed that Kyle was looking into him-still, it was clear Claire was conflicted about Kyle, as she seemed uneasy when he mentioned going back to Genoa City.
Girl’s Gone Wild
On Halloween night, Claire had a few drinks and let loose; she urged Holden to forget about Kyle, leading to a passionate evening together.
In the heat of the moment, Claire assured Holden that she had no regrets. However, guilt washed over her when she received a text from Kyle, showing him and Harrison Locke (Redding Munsell) in their Halloween costumes.
Claire had originally planned to join them as the third little pig but had backed out. Later, she confided in her mother, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), expressing her uncertainty about Holden being the right match for her, noting that he appears a bit too wild.
Claire’s Reaction To Holden’s Past
This followed Holden telling Claire about his past with Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver). He admitted to taking $100,000 in hush money from Audra after she stole half a million from a guy years ago.
Claire doesn’t see this as a deal breaker and isn’t judging Holden, but she’s considering it; Claire has done worse than accept hush money.
However, she feels trouble may come with Holden, and she doesn’t want a risky life, yet she’s not ready to marry Kyle. Many fans on soap social media prefer Claire with Holden over Kyle; Holden is a better match for Claire than Kyle.
Why Holden Is Better For Claire Than Kyle
Claire’s relationship with Kyle feels like a starter relationship, similar to a starter home-it’s smaller and not what you truly want, but it helps you start out in home ownership, you know? After Holden shared his history with Audra, Claire was still healing from the trauma caused by her aunt, Jordan Howard (Colleen Zenk), who tried to harm her family.
Claire had recently been in a psychiatric unit and was in recovery. Similar to recovering from addiction, it’s advised not to start a romantic relationship for a year to ensure clarity.
Claire Was Green When It Came To Romantic Relationships
Claire was recovering from years of brainwashing by Jordan; she had never had a boyfriend, gone on a date, or been intimate-she didn’t really have a life.
Then Kyle got serious with her almost immediately; he has been more committed than Claire throughout their relationship. If you think about it, Kyle has been trying to settle down with Claire from the beginning.
Part of this was because, as Harrison’s nanny, she took the place of Summer Newman (Alison Lanier) after Kyle divorced her.
In the end, it was all too much for Claire too quickly-Kyle was her first love, but I doubt he will be her last.
Claire Doesn’t Want To Marry And Setlle Down
She doesn’t want to marry her first boyfriend, Kyle; Claire and Holden’s relationship feels more natural- Claire got to know Holden gradually, starting as friends, then romantically, and finally intimately.
It developed organically; Claire chose Holden; he didn’t take over her life, he has been considerate of her feelings for Kyle and respectful. Holden has tried hard not to seem threatened, even though he likes Claire a lot.
He always checks with Claire, asking, “Is this okay? Is this what you want?” He even mentioned, “Kyle loves you,” and asked her before they kissed, “Is this what you really want?” She replied, “Yes.”

Kyle Has Been Pushy
Kyle is pushing his desires while ignoring Claire’s needs; he stifled her request for space. Essentially, Kyle is stripping Claire of her independence, trying to confine her to the role of wife and mother, which suits him. In contrast, Holden prioritizes Claire’s wishes over his own; additionally, Kyle is using little Harrison to lure Claire back, which is unfair to both of them.
Claire loves Harrison, but as Victoria pointed out, she doesn’t need to date Kyle to be part of his life. Plus, there’s a possibility that Claire and Holden could have a child, whether by accident or on purpose, which would be wonderful for Claire.
Kyle Is A Liar
Another reason Holden is better for Claire is that Kyle is a liar; he has lied to Claire many times, both directly and by omission, and he continues to lie. Kyle lied about his activities with Audra before going to France, then lied about what happened there, and only partially admitted the truth.
In contrast, Holden was honest with Claire about his relationship with Audra and the hush money, even knowing it could cost him Claire.
Holden waited until they were serious to reveal the truth, but that’s understandable. You don’t share your big secret until you’re deeply involved-that’s different from being in a relationship and lying the entire time.
Victor Is More Likely To Accept Holden Than Kyle
Don’t forget about the Newman factor; Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is more likely to accept Holden and let him prove he’s good enough for Claire.
However, Victor will never accept Kyle since he’s Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) son, and that won’t change. This makes it hard for Claire to be with Kyle and stay close to her family, which isn’t fair to her-Victor contributes to this unfairness, but he won’t change.
Clearly, Holden has the advantage; he seems much better for Claire-they share natural chemistry and genuine feelings that are slow-burning and mutual. There are no complications with ex-wives or kids. plus, Holden has been completely honest with Claire, while Kyle has not.

No,no Holden is a creep. Claire doesn’t deserve to be ruined by Holden. She is already being played as an unfeeling person. Having her jump into bed with Holden makes her trashy. It makes Claire look like she doesn’t care about Kyle and Harrison. Bad move. Sens Holden and Audra packing.
[…] Devoted viewers know that Allison Lanier (Summer Newman) left the cast earlier this year. That’s a loss, as she delivered a solid performance as the most recent version of this legacy character. […]
