General Hospital spoilers and updates reveal Daniel Goddard expressed his deep gratitude as he got ready to return to Australia for his father’s funeral.

After completing his final scene as the despicable Professor Henry Dalton, he posted something profoundly touching on social media, which changed the day’s atmosphere significantly.

Daniel Goddard Himself Caught The Fans’ Attention This Week In Spite Of His Character

This week, the turmoil  Professor Henry Dalton was causing on GH was wrongfully accusing Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) of vandalizing a lab that appeared perfectly fine until Dalton required it ruined.

 That caused plenty of drama, but it was actually the actor behind the now-deceased character who captured fans’ attention this week. Daniel Goddard, who has been captivating audiences with his portrayal of the cunning professor, expressed his gratitude to fans for their kindness and support during his time of loss in an Instagram post.

In his heartfelt video, Goddard discussed themes of grief, thankfulness, and the pride he feels in having received his first American passport.

He even infused some GH humor by reacting to Laura Collins (Genie Francis) slapping Dalton and commending Genie Francis.

Goddard Expressed Gratitude In The Midst Of Grief

Goddard’s Instagram post had a heavy impact that made people pause; “I’m flying back to Australia tonight for my dad’s funeral-thank you for your kind words and support since I heard the news.

I truly appreciate your love, it means a lot to me,” he shared. In the attached video, he expressed a blend of sorrow and grace: “I just want to thank everyone for the condolences and well wishes… I’m heading to Australia tonight for the funeral.

One of my proudest moments was becoming an American citizen, and getting my first American passport ranks high too… Thank you, America.” He even added some humor, joking about Laura Collins (Genie Francis) slapping Dalton and enjoying working with her: “I love you, Genie Francis… it’s an honor to work with you.”

Fans And Coworkers Rallied Around Him

His former co-star from The Young and the Restless, Kate Linder, also sent her love, saying, “Sending you my love! Fly safe!” The comments flowed in — soft, heartfelt, and honest-one fan said, “I was really upset when Professor Dalton got slapped; I would never slap you… safe travel;.” another wrote, “Cuidate Daniel, buen viaje!” which means, “Take care, Daniel, have a good trip.” Someone else expressed, “So sorry for your Dad’s loss… May our Heavenly Father embrace you all.”
