True Crime: San Bernardino County Sheriff Needs Help

True Crime kidnapping - ABC7 - YouTube

The office of the San Bernardino County Sheriff had put out a request for help from the public involving a true crime. The case involves a kidnapped baby. It happened in Yucaipa, California on Thursday. The little boy, Emmanuel Haro, is just seven months old. Read on for more details.

The Request For Help

True crime might be interesting for outsiders, but for those involved, it can be terrifying. Right now, a mom named Rebecca Haro and the dad of Emmanuel are beside themselves with worry. Updates on X, where the office of the San Bernardino County Sheriff asked for help, don’t indicate that the child has been recovered.

In part, the request for help from the public said that deputies from the Yucaipa Station were called to the “34000 block of Yucaipa Boulevard” on August 14, 2025, at 7:47 p.m. It came after a report of a missing 7-month-old boy.

This is still an “active investigation,” and authorities are asking for the public’s help to find the child. He was last seen in a “black Nike onesie” and weighs about “21 pounds.” He is also approximately “24 inches tall,” with “brown hair, brown eyes, and is cross-eyed.”

If you have any information, please call “911 or Sheriff’s Dispatch at 909-387-8313.”

It Was A Day For Family

The evening meant an outing for some of the kids, because one of Rebecca’s children has a football practice. Anyway, she left the practice to go and buy a “mouthguard” for her older son. While she was at a “Yucaipa retail store around 7:45 p.m. in the 34500 block of Yucaipa Boulevard,” she needed to diaper change Emmanuel, per ABC7 News.

According to Rebecca, someone spoke to her from behind as she changed Emmanuel in the car. Then, she was allegedly hit on the head, and when she came around, her baby boy was gone.

The reports also mentioned that “San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department deputies and K9 units responded Thursday night with scent-tracking dogs and searched for the child and any possible suspects.”

Can You Help?

Obviously, police officers will check for camera footage, but in the meantime, if you were in the area, perhaps you can be a true crime sleuth and help with any information. Folks on X don’t seem to have offered much that is useful in the comments. And, some folks wondered if there had been an “Amber Alert” sent out.

Meanwhile, others seemed suspicious of the report and hoped the police checked out the mom for the injuries that she claimed she sustained during the attack. Probably, that did happen, because hopefully, that would be standard investigation practice.

Apparently, the family did hand out flyers on Friday, so if you come across one, it would help if you and your friends could pay attention to it.
