Jana Duggar & Stephen Wissmann Expect First Baby

Counting On alum Jana Duggar and her husband Stephen Wissmann recently told the world that they expect the first baby together. TLC fans are thrilled because, they never thought that Jana would get married and raise her own babies. Read on for all the details. 

The Pregnancy Announcement

The announcement about the baby arrived on Instagram on August 18th. It was accompanied by some photos which were credited to a sister-in-law. In her caption, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s eldest daughter wrote:

We are so excited, January 2026 is going to come with a little bundle of joy joining our family! We’re counting down the days and eagerly looking forward to this thrilling new chapter in our lives!

Then, she thanked her sister-in-law “@firstlens_photography” for the pictures. 

Family & Friends React

Jill Duggar Dillard, who raises three boys with her husband Derick, wrote, “So excited for y’all!” and she dropped a red heart emoji.

Next up, was Jessa Seewald, who recently welcomed her sixth baby. She said, “Can’t wait to meet this baby!!”

Then came Hannah Duggar, who wrote, “So thrilled for y’all!!”

Family friend Carlin Bates, formerly on Bringing Up Bates on UPtv, also sent on her thoughts. She said, “Congratulations!!! So happy for you!”

So far, no other members of the Counting On clan said anything on the post. However, that doesn’t mean they didn’t already congratulate Jana and Stephen Wissmann privately.

Fans Also Send In Their Congratulations

Fans had waited through dozens of pregnancy announcements for this moment to happen. They always had a soft spot for Jana Duggar who seemed to have no life as she helped raise her younger siblings.

She was sometimes seen doing some interior decorating or gardening, but fans wanted her to find love. For a long time, rumors circulated that she was actually gay. But when she married Stephen, fans decided that they should have their own children.

Naturally, lots of people are happy about the baby news. Here are a few of those reactions:

No Spinoff Shows Likely

When TLC first canceled 19 Kids and Counting, it was because of Jana’s brother, Josh Duggar, who admitted to inappropriate behavior with some of his sisters. Then, Counting On came along, and that didn’t last either. Again, it was due to Josh, who was arrested and convicted for CSAM offenses.

The chances of another Duggar spinoff seem very remote, even for Jana, a fan favorite from the beginning.
