Amy King Reveals Dillon’s Scary Health Diagnosis

Amy King, the Duggar cousin from Counting On, revealed that Dillon was unwell. The dad of their only child, Daxton, got a scary diagnosis, and she revealed the nature of his illness ahead of the weekend.

Health Update For Dillon?

On Thursday this week, Amy took to her Instagram and shared a photo of herself standing next to Dillon, who held their son, Daxton. They looked happy, but the news wasn’t something to celebrate. Dillon’s not at all well, even though he’s not in a hospital.

In her caption, the former TLC support character said:

Update on my husband’s healing journey…Thank you so much for support and continued prayers. It means more than I can say as we navigate the next steps for his overall health. Life can feel overwhelming and uncertain at times, but even in the middle of fears and the unknown, we are choosing to put our full trust in Jesus.

What Is The Problem?

In her link in the bio, the details of the scary health problem took TLC fans to an article by People. There, she explained that her husband has a rare condition. The outlet checked it out, and it’s known as a “diaphragmatic” injury, which is “relatively uncommon.” Only about “1% of traumatic injuries” of this type occur. 

The details sounded painful as Amy King elaborated, “Dillon has been diagnosed with a severe diaphragmatic rupture — an extremely rare and dangerous condition that has caused vital organs, including his kidney and parts of his digestive system, to shift into his chest cavity.”

No Longer Hospitalized 

When the Duggar cousin first revealed that Dillon was unwell, we reported that she only told her followers that his condition was life-changing, and it sounded very threatening. However, she didn’t explain the full details at the time. Instead, she asked for prayers. 

Unfortunately, the news had arrived on his birthday. In the new update, she revealed that her husband had returned home. However, that doesn’t mean he’s out of danger. She told the outlet that he is listed as “critical,” and now rests “at home.”

“Doctors have made it clear that this is not a quick fix,” she says. As it’s very “high risk” and complex to treat, the outcome isn’t guaranteed to be a good one. So, the couple clings “to hope, prayer, and the wisdom of the medical teams.”

“This has shaken our family deeply,” she continued, but added that her man is “a fighter.” However, they never expected his fight to be so serious, and they certainly never anticipated this to happen. 

In the commenters section, plenty of people reached out to Amy King and her husband. One of them said, “This is so scary. Sending prayers for your sweet family as you navigate such a difficult time. I look forward to seeing y’all heal.”
