Claire is experiencing what she believes is love for the first time. But it’s fair to wonder if she just has a crush on Kyle.

Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) is back with Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd). However, the audience realizes that scant plot time is spent on that relationship, which indicates that it’s likely not being developed. So, that leaves her open to make another play for Kyle.

Claire Newman Does Need Protection

Victor’s insight into Kyle is something that he and Claire, along with others, aren’t willing to accept. But Victor is right.

Claire’s miraculous return to life in Genoa City, Wisconsin, happened because of her deranged great aunt Jordan Howard’s (Colleen Zenk) meticulous revenge plot.

That dastardly scheme used Claire as a veiled decoy, initially posing as Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) assistant at Newman Enterprises.

Calling herself Claire Grace, Erin’s character despised the Newman family. All these months later, a soapy transformation has Claire as part of that famous family and in love with an Abbott, a family that has given Victor many fits through the decades. So, it’s natural that he doesn’t want Claire to be involved with Kyle.

Victor Newman’s Abbott Attack Won’t Spare Anyone

Victor remains certain that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) nearly caused Nikki’s death. That feeling originated when Nikki was forced off the wagon by Jordan and Jack recklessly ordered and took illicit drugs. Doing so in front of Nikki, while she was drunk shocked her back to reality.

Jack was rushed to the hospital, not Nikki. Thomas Scott’s character was never near death. But Victor’s outrage remains justified because Jack’s impulsive action could have killed him and created unknown damage to Nikki’s psyche.

The carefully planned retaliatory attack Victor’s plan against the Abbotts reminds viewers that he and Jordan share a familiar vindictive spirit and heartless ability. Victor is moving straight ahead with his Abbott attack, which will impact Kyle and Claire. Whether that drives them apart or further deepens their growing bond remains to be seen.
