General Hospital Spoilers: The End Of An Era
For years, Monica has been the steadfast leader of the Quartermaine clan, and it’s difficult to envision anyone else stepping into the shoes of that beloved matriarch.
Even during her absence from the screen due to health issues, Monica’s influence remained palpable. It seems that the show has subtly been preparing for Tracy (Jane Elliot) to ascend as the Quartermaine matriarch, poised to take over Monica’s role as her rival.
Despite their long-standing feud, Tracy and Monica have always been formidable adversaries, each matching the other’s sharpness. In the latest episodes, Tracy has surprisingly expressed a reluctant admiration and even a hint of fondness for Monica.
GH Spoilers: Tracy Will Need To Deal With Drew
Can Tracy manage to keep the family united while guiding the next generation of Quartermaines; at this moment, it seems like an almost insurmountable challenge.
If she is to step into the role of matriarch, one of her first hurdles will be dealing with Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison). Even prior to the chaos surrounding Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen), Tracy was already plotting ways to oust Drew and distance him from the family.
With Michael Corinthos’ (Chad Duell) children now in the mix, Tracy feels an urgent need to act. She must regain control of this rapidly deteriorating situation before it spirals completely out of her grasp.
General Hospital Spoilers: Tracy Is Determined To Safeguard The Quartermaine Legacy
Tracy is determined to safeguard the future of the Quartermaine legacy. She has made a solemn vow to look after the Q children, aiming to raise them within the walls of the Quartermaine mansion, where her influence can shape their lives, despite her general aversion to kids.
However, with Drew now fixated on securing custody of Wiley and Amelia Corinthos (Viron Weaver, Serenity and Sequoia Mork Macko) for Willow, Tracy is gearing up for a fierce battle.
Her resolve to keep the children at the mansion will face a significant challenge, as Drew plans to whisk Willow and the kids away to Washington, D.C. With Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) currently unable to act, it appears that his family, including Tracy, is left with limited options to prevent Willow from ultimately gaining custody of the children.
GH Spoilers: Tracy Wouldn’t Team Up With Carly And Sonny
It seemed that Tracy might join forces with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) to stand against Willow and Drew.
However, when Sonny expressed his desire to take the kids and Tracy firmly opposed him, any chance of collaboration vanished. Sonny is bound to take it to heart that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) opted for Tracy over him, which means he’s unlikely to consider working with her in the near future.
Tracy does possess that video of Michael and Willow, which she could use as a bargaining chip. But does Drew even care if Tracy leaks the video and jeopardizes his political career-he seems to have completely forsaken his job to play the gallant knight for Willow.
General Hospital Spoilers: Does Tracy Have What It Takes?
If Tracy steps into the role of the new family matriarch, can she unite the family as Monica once did? Monica managed to hold the clan together for years, largely because, despite her past missteps, the family held a deep love and respect for her. They may not have always adored her, but they recognized her authority.
Tracy, however, hasn’t yet earned that level of admiration and loyalty; still, there’s potential for her to cultivate it. Her strong bond with Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins) indicates that she has the ability to forge meaningful connections within the family.
GH Spoilers: The Kids May Accept Tracy, But How About The Adults?
If she remains a constant figure in the lives of the Q kids as they mature, she could establish herself as the cherished matriarch, wielding authority with a gentle touch. The children are unaware of her past, giving her a unique opportunity to connect with them.
Yet, the adults who are aware of her extensive history of criminal behavior, volatile outbursts, and decisions fueled by anger may never embrace her as the family leader.
Tracy stands out as one of the few capable individuals ready to take on the role of head of the family, Especially since Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) lacks the strength to assume that position.
General Hospital Spoilers: Will Monica Leave Tracy The House?
Jane Elliot has a remarkable talent for crafting Tracy into a character who is both enchanting and intriguing, even in her villainous moments.
It would be thrilling to witness her seize even greater influence within the family and manipulate the current dynamics to achieve her goals. It seems right now that the Quartermaine heir is in flux, with conflict between Drew, Ned, and Jason and Michael incapacitated till further notice.
This is, of course, contingent on Monica being written out and leaving Tracy the house-with Leslie’s passing, we know she eventually will. Despite Tracy’s tendency to assert her dominance in the mansion, she remains just another guest, like everyone else, at least for the time being.
