Deon Derrico Calls For Prayers By TLC Fans

Doubling Down With The Derricos star, Deon Derrico feels bad for his family member, so he calls for prayer on social media. No doubt, TLC fans will pray because many of them believe in the power of doing that. Read on to find out more.  

Deon Derrico Has A Large Family 

TLC fans don’t see all of the family on Doubling Down With the Derricos. They don’t see Derron Derrico who was adopted and is estranged from the family. But, they do see Eric Jefferson who is not family. Recently, viewers met a nephew named Amani Barker.

Deon Derrico and Karen might get lots of people who claim to be related to the massive TV family. But, Amani Barker, checked out okay. He was the son of one of Deon’s siblings. Over time, TLC fans saw that he got along well with all of the kids, and they had a lot of fun together. 

Deon Derrico Calls Out Prayers

On Friday, the Doubling Down With the Derricos patriarch took to his Instagram stories and spoke about Amani. If you don’t know, Amani Barker passed away last year after a liver transplant. As a teenager, he’d been diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis.  

Deon Derrico wrote in his caption:

My only nephew born on 1/24/1998 sending prayers up to my sister Stacey, as this is Amani’s first birthday LIVING IN Heaven.

TLC Fans Felt Sad When Amani Passed Away

Many Doubling Down With the Derricos fans mourned when Deon Derrico first announced the passing of his nephew. At the time, he talked about how Amani was the son of his late brother, Chris Turner and Stacey Dickey. Once Amani entered the life of the family, he brought much joy to them all. While he wasn’t on TLC for a long time, Doubling Down With the Derricos fans quickly grew to like the young man. 

If you missed Amani Barker on the show, you can watch a short video of him below. In it, Deon had taken Amani to visit his father’s grave. In the comments section, TLC fans who viewed the teaser talked about the loss.

One viewer wrote, “I can’t believe he passed away a few days ago he was so young…But it was such an amazing thing to have found his family [who] got to know and love him. He was so sick for so long and he fought valiantly, but there is no[w] another angel in heaven.”
