Deon Derrico Shouts Out ‘Son’ Eric Jefferson

Doubling Down With the Derricos patriarch Deon Derrico gave Eric Jefferson a shoutout his weekend, and called him his “oldest son.” Of course, TLC fans know that he is estranged from his oldest adopted son, Derron. But Karen’s ex thinks of Eric as his family. 

Deon Derrico & Eric Both Got Divorced

Eric was never a biological member of the family and started out as a tenant. Later, he became an employee, and over time, Karen and her then-husband felt like he was part of the family. Married to Felicia Jefferson, the younger couple split. And since then, Doubling Down With the Derricos fans heard the shocking news that Deon and Karen also split.

Deon Derrico and Karen came to rely on Eric Jeffereon to help with their 14 kids. Of course, now that the former couple each have equal custody of the kids, he’s probably even more important when it comes to helping out. Only Darian Derrico is a young adult and capable of not being supervised. 

Eric Jefferson Gets A Shoutout

This weekend, Eric Jefferson got a nice shoutout from the TLC patriarch on Instagram. The photo showed them standing together while in the background, some of the kids sat playing on their phones. The setting revealed they might have been on Good Morning America. 

Deon Derrico wrote in his caption:

Happy Birthday on this 10/19/2024 to my oldest son Eric! Please help us in honoring Eric (DERRICO) Jefferson. Eric, has been as much of a blessing to us, as we have been to him! Sometimes GOD, blesses us with family that don’t start off with us, But for reasons unbeknownst to us, our paths cross and we find ourselves woven together in a harmonious way that makes us connected like blood… that’s what we have with Eric! Thank you son!! For who you have been to us.

Despite losing a lot of popularity over the divorce from Karen Derrico, many Doubling Down With the Derricos fans still like Deon. And, few of them have any issues with Eric Jefferson. So, a lot of sweet birthday wishes went his way in the comments section. Here are some of the reactions:
