Hope has free will. In that scenario, saying that anyone’s reaction to anything is justifiable because of other people’s actions is not an explanation. It’s an excuse designed to shift the focus away from whoever did wrong.

Yes, Steffy did misinterpret Hope’s intentions. She was not wearing lingerie as part of another attempt to make a play for John Finn Finnegan (Tanner Novlan).

Brooke’s weak defense and Hope’s belief that she deserves the benefit of the doubt are proven by referencing the recent past. The multiple attempts to try and persuade Finn to become involved were reckless acts.

They reacted to Hope’s belief that Steffy caused Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) to take Douglas Forrester (Henry Samiri) and leave Los Angeles, California.

Hope knows her two marriage rejections are why Thomas took their son and left LA. But she transferred blame to Steffy and sought revenge, thinking she could start a new triangle. But Finn was not into becoming a modern Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton).

If Hope had only recognized Carter’s interest in her months before she threw herself at Finn, everything could have been different. However, Carter just made his feelings known recently. So, that’s an unfair retro critique.

If Hope had only followed her mother’s advice and stopped thinking about Finn, she probably would still be leading Hope for the Future. But she forced Steffy’s hand by mixing far too much personal business into Forrester Creations’ always hyper-alert workplace.

Hope’s business reputation has taken a major public hit. More importantly, those closest to her realize that she’s adrift. Pushing Carter to pursue a takeover of FC is incredibly misguided.

Justin Barber (Aaron D. Spears) didn’t seem overly certain when he initially reviewed the Legally Licensed Corporation documents Carter deceptively presented to Ridge and Steffy, which they signed.

This might not be an easy fix, and Carter seems determined to follow through on his plan to turn FC into a luxury brand conglomerate.

Of course, a good daytime drama wouldn’t have everything settled in one or two episodes. So, the audience is anticipating Hope and Brooke clashing while Carter and Ridge’s friendship shatters.
