‘American Idol’ Laine Hardy Gets Engaged, Expects A Baby

American Idol winner Laine Hardy turns 24 in three days, and ahead of that, he made three huge announcements. Katy Perry’s favorite from Seasons 16 and 17 dropped a new song, and he got engaged. Along the way way,  he also revealed that he was expecting to be a first-time dad.

The young man from Livingston, Louisiana was just 17 when he made it through the audition for Season 16 of American Idol. After being sent home during Hollywood Week, he was invited back for Season 17 after he accompanied a friend for their audition, and he won.  This week, he took to social media with his girlfriend, Jordan Gautreau, and notified country music fans that a baby is on the way. 

Laine Hardy lost his flavor just as his career was taking off. He’d been labeled as a rising star in country music when the news arrived that he was arrested for placing a listening device in a girlfriend’s digs. Recently, he completed a special program to escape a criminal record, and finally, he was free to make music again. Last week, he announced that on September 6, he was dropping a new song called “That Man.”

American Idol Fans Send In Congrats

After the announcement that he was dropping his new single, country music fans were enthusiastic. However, he wasn’t finished with his news and a few days later, he and his girlfriend Jordan Gautreau jointly announced that they were engaged and planning a wedding. 

Laine Hardy’s girlfriend also confirmed that the young couple expects a baby. In the joint post, where the American Idol winner produced a bouquet, she said:

the secret is out…. I’m having his babyyyy We are so excited for this chapter of our lives. Looking forward to God’s plan for us. The biggest surprise and the easiest YES! Can’t wait for our new title as parents and to plan a wedding #partywiththehardys

Taste of Country explained that Laine Hardy’s girlfriend, “Jordan Gautreau, [is] a cheerleader for the New Orleans Saints and former NBA dancer for the New Orleans Pelicans.”
