Shemar Moore played Malcolm Winters from 1994 until 2005. He had return appearances in 2014, 2019, and 2023.
Malcolm is the half-brother of Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) and the character drove soapy story for many years including the infamous plot in which he “accidently” slept with Neil’s wife Drucilla Winters (Victoria Rowell).
In 2019 Moore returned to the show for a memorial episode dedicated to St. John.

Moore came back in May 2023 for The Young and the Restless’ 50th anniversary celebration. Moore and St. John were close and he revealed that St. John was a supportive friend and generous mentor.
Moore exited Criminal Minds after 11 seasons then returned in the next two seasons as a special guest star.
Clearly Moore enjoys revisiting his old stomping grounds so would he consider a return to the show that made him famous? Definitely yes!
He said “If The Young and the Restless called me today, I would go. Because you never forget where you came from. It sounds cliché and maybe cheesy, but it’s also true.”
