Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers hint it’s been a hot minute since fans have seen Elena Dawson in Genoa City. She did save Chance Chancellor’s (Conner Floyd) life when he got shot while still working as the Police Chief a while back; however, she’s been MIA since.
The character’s portrayer, actress Brytni Sarpy, recently hopped on social media to share a new look with fans, which begs the question: will fans ever see Elena Dawson back on the soap?

Sarpy posted a photo on Instagram, sharing her “new cut, new color” on her hair. Of course, both Y&R and General Hospital (GH) co-workers were quick to rush to the comments. C
hristian LeBlanc (Michael Baldwin) and Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea Lawson) posted heart-eyes emojis, while Greg Rikaart (Y&R’s Kevin Fisher, Days’s Leo Stark) posted fire emojis.
Marc Anthony Samuel (GH’s Felix DuBois) commented with “Gorge”, while Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summers) also left a “gorgeous” comment. Meanwhile, Days stars Tamara Braun (Ava Vitali) and Sal Stowers (Lani Price-Grant) also left sweet messages of adoration.

In addition, fans also flooded the comment section, telling Brytni how much they missed her on the show and when she’d be back.
According to Soaps.com, she is just on the storyline backburner for now; however, there’s no indication of when she could come back to the canvas, or what’s next for Elena Dawson.
Here’s hoping when she returns, she plays a more active role in storylines, and not just the “doctor in the hospital” who addresses a medical emergency.
It would also be nice to see her in another romance, and as Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) is single, wouldn’t it be interesting to explore the chemistry between those two?
Seeing that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) is sparring with her exes, Devon Hamilton-Winters (Bryton James) and Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) there might be potential, there too (even though at the moment, Billy is with Chelsea!)
