General Hospital comings and goings reveal big casting news as soap opera veteran Eva LaRue joins the cast as Blaze’s mother.

Eva LaRue Lands On Another ABC Soap

While LaRue’s first soap opera stint was on Santa Barbara in 1988 as a little-known character named Margot. However, her breakout soap role was as Dr. Maria Santos on All My Children, who she played on and off from 1993 to 2005. That is where she met her ex-husband, the late John Callahan, who played Maria’s husband Edmund.

LaRue’s last soap role was as Celeste Rosales on The Young and the Restless from 2019-2020. LaRue won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Guest Performer for playing Rey (Jordi Vilasuso), Lola (Sasha Calle), and Arturo’s (Jason Caneles) mom. Celeste eventually moved back to Miami.

Blaze’s Mom Comes To Town

Now, LaRue will be tackling the role of Natalia Rogers-Ramirez, Blaze’s (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) mother. As Blaze, aka Alison Rogers-Ramirez, has been getting more and more involved with Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi), she has revealed that her very Catholic family would not be happy to learn that she is gay.

That is why Blaze is choosing not to come out for now. She has feelings for Kristina but wants to keep things on the downlow and Kristina is respecting that choice.

With Natalia hitting Port Charles and checking into the Metro Court for an extended visit, will she learn her daughter’s secret? What will the fallout be?

We hope to see scenes between LaRue and Nancy Lee Grahn, as Alexis Davis might be able to help Natalia accept her daughter for who she is. Alexis had a hard time accepting Kristina when she first came out in 2016.

Whether Natalia becomes a regular Port Charles player remains to be seen. On Y&R, fans expected Celeste to stick around and hoped she’d become a love interest for Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), but alas that wasn’t meant to be.

If Natalia sticks around PC, who could she be paired with? Or, will we soon learn that Blaze’s father has been cast as well?

LaRue’s first airdate as Natalia is at the end of this month on February 26.
