The Young And The Restless Speculation: Claire’s Family Twist, Michael Adopts Kindred Criminal?

The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck) is back from getting Claire Grace’s (Hayley Erin) toothbrush for a DNA test.

Even if Claire isn’t Cole and Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle), they have committed to helping her anyway. However, Michael Baldwin’s (Christian LeBlanc) passion for Claire’s case could lead to an unexpected development.

Will Michael end up adopting Claire? Michael sure seems to understand Claire’s mental state, so let’s discuss this possibility.

Cole Howard’s Declaration

Y&R spoilers reveal that Cole and Victoria have discussed Claire several times since the poisoning ordeal ended. Michael warned them that Jordan (Colleen Zenk) grooming a psychopath (meaning Claire) might not be fixable. However, Michael hadn’t talked to Claire or heard her story yet.

Going back to Cole and Victoria, they make a shocking decision. Before the DNA test has even been done, Cole and Victoria feel they need to help Claire even if she isn’t their daughter.

Now, Cole is a pretty empathetic and kind-hearted guy. Victoria normally isn’t, though. So, we will see if Victoria and Cole really mean what they say.

Y&R Spoilers: Michael Baldwin’s Assessment

Soon after Cole and Victoria’s request, Michael went to Oregon to visit Claire. Michael heard Claire’s story and was unexpectedly moved.

When Michael came back to Genoa City, Michael told Cole and Victoria that he understood why they are so conflicted. Michael agreed to take Claire’s case. Michael seemed extremely passionate and almost angry for Claire rather than at her.

The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that Michael also made an interesting statement when Cole addressed his surprising empathy for Claire.

Michael’s own bad history and understanding of how powerful yet damaging a parent’s influence can be were both mentioned in Michael’s explanation.

It is possible that after all of this, Claire might not turn out to be Cole and Victoria’s daughter. Or, perhaps she is, but the Newman family refuses to accept Claire.

Victoria might want to get from under her father’s thumb, but that is easier said than done. So, what happens to Claire?

Based on Michael’s investment and understanding of the brainwashing factor, could he make a shocking move after the court case? Perhaps Michael will not only be Claire’s lawyer but will end up adopting the young woman.

Adults are adopted all the time these days and it would be an unexpected twist to Claire’s story.
