General Hospital Spoilers: Who Killed Austin Gatlin-Holt?

General Hospital spoilers tease that Dr. Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) was shot in his home and left to die over the Thanksgiving holiday.

While there is no shortage of suspects, the most obvious one may have slipped under the radar. But before we get into that, let’s take a look at two of the more likely suspects. First, we have the most obvious suspect.

General Hospital Spoilers – Cyrus Renault Had Reason To Keep Austin Gatlin-Holt Quiet!

Austin was fed up with being under mobster Cyrus Renault’s (Jeff Kober) thumb. So much so that he had gone to the police with his story. But Austin wanted immunity and the District Attorney’s office was reluctant to do so until Austin provided some sort of proof against Cyrus.

Austin left to retrieve the proof when he has killed in his home. Cyrus had every reason to keep Austin from talking to the cops, so that alone puts him at the top of the suspect list.

GH Spoilers – Ave Jerome Had Reasons Of Her Own To Hate Austin Gatlin-Holt

When Ava believed she had accidentally killed Nikolas Cassadine (last played by Adam Huss), she enlisted Austin to help hide his body. But what Ava didn’t know was that Nikolas was alive and that Austin had nursed him back to health.

Austin allowed Ava to be blackmailed by Mason Gatlin (Nathanyael Grey) by supposedly stealing Nikolas body. Austin pretended to get close to Ava, and may have had actual feelings for her, but Ava discovered that Austin had been lying to her all this time. That is certainly a motive for murder.

General Hospital Spoilers – Mason Gatlin Could Be Quilty After All!

Mason was shot by Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zomprogna) when he rescued Ava from Mason’s murderous plan. Although, Mason was in police custody after being shot, he was still recovering at General Hospital the night Austin died.

Add to that the fact that Austin tried to kill Mason a few days prior, gives Austin not only motive but quite possible opportunity to kill his cousin.

Mason might have been able to slip away from General Hospital, kill his cousin and return to the hospital without anyone finding out. Heahter Webber (Alley Mills) has been doing exactly that for decades.
