To be fair, Adam did cite Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) moving away from Genoa City, Wisconsin, while citing his father always being at odds with the Newmans. That hurt Adam and made him reconsider his recent behavior.

The plan to get back into Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) good graces is different. Adam knows his blood tie gives him access to his father’s heart. Plus, he is calculating that Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will not survive long-term and the big chair will eventually be offered to him by the Moustache.

Adam applied pressure to Sally whether he was around her or not. He also waited for an opportunity to remind her of his importance and pounced.
