Doctor Colby did not strongly suggest Eric accompany him for further tests is a mystery. It is reasonable to believe McCook’s character should also be under observation, potentially being admitted to the hospital.
But while imperiled, Eric is of sound mind. His condition appears to be physical, rather than dementia-related. So, neither the doctor, Donna, nor any family member can force Eric to submit to anything against his will.

Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) is often found kissing his soul mate, Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) in FC’s executive suite. The again-happy couple mixes in work with family talk.
Eric’s throw-down made no sense to Ridge when it was proposed. Kaye’s character has chosen to believe that his father’s ego is hurt but also feels that he does not know the whole story.
RJ has been most conflicted about withholding the truth from his father. Hopefully, his open conversations with his new love interest, Luna Nozawa (Lisa Yamada), enable RJ to realize that Ridge needs to know what is wrong with Eric.

The Fashion Showdown between Eric and Ridge is set for later this month. That very public event projects into high drama.
The pressure Eric’s doctor told him to avoid will increase between now and the day of the event. So, viewers will be holding their collective breath, along with Donna, RJ, and Luna, hoping that Eric makes it through.
But a collapse at the showdown is a realistic projection based on Eric’s tenuous health status. That climactic scene would be classic B&B.
