The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers document that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) wanted to marry Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) in recent days. But their wedding photos would have shown her bland prison garb and the handcuffs likely would not have been flattering.

Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) is working on an apparent repetition theory. If he continues to tell Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) that she loves him, they belong together and will be remarried enough times, she will believe it.

So, with Diane freed on house arrest and Tucker having accepted Ashley’s invitation to be her house guest, dueling wedding plans could follow.

Jack and Ashley are not getting along. That sentence could have been written during any of the decades these legacy characters have been on the show.

As many with siblings on the other side of the screen know, emotions rule where deep-seated family matters are concerned. They do care about each other, but Bergman and Davidson’s alter egos have no qualms about degrading their sibling’s so-called choices.

Jack feels momentum is on his side. Imagine how he will rub Diane’s vindication in Ashley’s face when Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is revealed as alive.

The Young And The Restless Updates – Ashley Abbott Is Not In School

Ashley finds Jack’s relentlessly negative attacks against her reconnection with Tucker to be outrageous because of Diane. Jack’s son’s mother faked her murder, which led to drama for numerous people in Genoa City, Wisconsin, including one of Jack’s ex-wives, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), being accused of the crime.

Jack talks to Ashley as though he is an authority on love when his romantic misadventures are legendary. The range of his wacky love stories is beyond the pale. Yet, he feels compelled to lambaste Ashley because she remains fond of her most recent ex-husband.

Of course, Tucker’s affair with Diane, while he was married to Ashley, gets Jack’s goat. But regardless, Ashley is mature, like Jack, and does not need his overbearing opinions shoved down her throat.

Diane Jenkins Ready To Marry?

Diane did not want Jack to waste the rest of his life waiting for her. She refused to marry him while behind bars, not wanting Jack to be tied to what seemed like a lifelong jailbird.

But Diane is in the mansion now. The euphoria of the moment could cause her to agree to nuptials in Abbott’s living room.

It feels more likely that Diane’s eventual legal clearance will set the soapy stage for her marriage to Jack. Possibly, Ashley beats her brother to the wedding ceremony punch before then or remarries Tucker on the same day on Y&R?
