Little People Big World is a reality TV show that has been on the air since 2006. The show follows the lives of the Roloff family, and the premise is focused on little people. One of the most popular members of the family is Jackson Roloff, who is six years old. Cute as a button, the son of Tori and Zach Roloff faced a lot of physical challenges. Back in December of 2021, he underwent surgery on his legs to try and correct them from bowing. Here are five essential milestones that every TLC fan should know
Tori and Zach’s first child was diagnosed at birth with dwarfism, and his parents have been open about his condition on the show. If you don’t know, his dad Zach, his grandmother Amy, and his grandfather Matt are all little people. However, his Uncle Jeremy, Uncle Jacob, and his Aunt Molly are average-sized. Like Jackson, his two siblings, Lilah and Josiah were also born with achondroplasia. The oldest of all the kids, he just turned six years old and he attends big boy school these days.
Jackson first started to walk unaided at about 13 months old. In fact, the first videos of him came when Zach and Tori were waiting to board an airplane at the airport in Oregon. Naturally, Little People Big Word fans were thrilled because they feared that his dwarfism might have made it difficult for him to walk. Actually, it seems like his brother, Josiah is on the same track as he walks around using tables and chairs to steady himself at the age of one. These days, his big brother runs around confidently, and he plays soccer. But, it was only recently at a soccer game that he seemed to realize that he is different from other kids.
On his birthday this year, Tori told her TLC fans that Jackson is “stinking smart,” and almost nothing gets past him. Additionally, she noted that she loves to see him “read” to his younger siblings. Perhaps he’s lucky because his mom used to be a teacher, and she instilled a love of reading in him from a young age. By the time he was 18 months old, he was talking and he didn’t look back. If you don’t know, one day, he hopes to become a pilot. Of course, that could change as he grows older.
Little People Big World fans saw that although he walked just fine as a little kid, in 2021, he had to undergo surgery because his legs were bowing. Actually, it played out on the TLC show, and fans felt terribly sorry for him. Unfortunately, although it was not too invasive, it doesn’t seem to have made much difference. Although his mom and dad claim that he feels no pain, he looks uncomfortable. Getting his legs corrected is a milestone for the future, and likely, a painful one.
Little People Big World fans who follow the family know that Jackson just loved to zoom around on his little scooter. These days, he’s got a bike and fans saw him receive it from his grandma, Amy and her husband, Chris Marek. Despite his physical challenges, he certainly seems to hit his milestones with confidence and pizzazz.
Jackson seems to have something about him that is completely inspiring and inherently good. Do you agree? Shout out in the comments below.
