Hallmark Channel news and updates tease that Alison Sweeney opened up about the future of Hannah Swensen movies. A new installment is set to premiere this weekend and fans can expect to enjoy another movie soon.

Production and scheduling challenges have prevented fans from enjoying a new Hannah Sweeny movie. Many of them have been left wondering about the fate of the mystery series on Hallmark, which stars Alison Sweney and Cameron Mathison.

Two years after the last movie, fans can finally breathe a sigh of relief as they wait for the film to premiere this weekend. Not only that, they can rest easy knowing that the mystery series isn’t going anywhere since another movie is currently in the works.

Hallmark Channel Spoilers – Sweeney Teases Upcoming Movie

The actress hinted that a new movie is coming while promoting Carrot Cake Murder: A Hannah Swensen Mystery, which airs on May 19, 2023. The current movie is based on Joanne Fluke’s Carrot Cake Murder, where she plays Hannah Sweeny and Mathison as her alter ego’s fiancé, Detective Mike Kingston.

Hallmark Movies & Mysteries released a series of “Murder, She Baked” movies, which were based on five of Fluke’s books, between 2015 and 2017. Four years after the last movie from that series aired, the franchise was renamed as Hannah Swensen Mysteries, and it released a movie called Sweet Revenge.

Before it aired, Sweeney shared that there were many complications while the movie was in production but they were glad that they managed to pull through. It took a while before a new movie was released. In October 2022, Sweeney teased that she wanted to make another installment but had no idea if Hallmark would consider it to be part of the franchise.

Hallmark Channel Updates – Sweeney And Mathison

Last February, it was announced that Sweeney and Mathison were shooting their seventh movie, which aired over the weekend. Aside from that, the actress revealed that she and Craig Baumgarten, her producing partner, have decided on the next film.

“We like to mix it up a little bit, but of course, the series is based on Hannah (as the one) who finds the dead body. And Delores is the one who’s like, ‘Oh, Hannah!’ as if it’s Hannah’s fault, she seeks it out, which is one of my favorite parts of Barbara Niven playing this role. One of the reasons I chose this book is that it’s one in which Dolores finds the body. I thought that was really funny,” Sweeney said.
