Who better than the woman that tamed the great Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) to tell Summer how to strategize?

Yes, Nikki had her issues with Victor and his other wives and romantic entanglements. But everyone knows that the Moustache loves one woman more than any other, and that lady is Nikki.

So, Summer began to implement advice about her potential stepmother, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope), and uncle, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman). This effort looks to be a long-term play.

Sally was surprised Summer wanted to talk seriously. She assumed the initial request at Society was to slam her yet again. But Summer had a different agenda, one that Nikki encouraged.

Sally could not discount what Summer suggested. Summer was direct in stating she believed Adam was a better fit than her dad. The question about the depth of Sally’s feelings for Adam compared to Nick remains.

Nikki was relieved Summer said Sally’s baby is Adam’s. But the perceived problem of Nick wanting to stay with Sally is something Summer hopes to resolve through skilled intervention.

The Young And The Restless Updates – Nick Newman Recognizes Undermining

It was interesting to see Summer begin her attempts to destroy her father’s relationship with Sally. So, the same Summer who has been all over her mother, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is working similar interference angles.

Summer has lambasted Phyllis for going after Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters). While the dynamics are different, no one can reasonably argue that Sally is a greater threat than Diane.

Sally is sure to tell Nick about the chat with Summer. Nick is bound to mention that to Phyllis at some opportune moment, arming Stafford’s character with meaningful insight into their daughter’s actions.

Meanwhile, Back At The Abbott House

Summer and her husband, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), learn that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) proposed marriage to Diane. Her acceptance puts another soapy bar on Summer’s table.

Summer may eventually see that her protective instincts are not that different from her mother’s. Phyllis’ dangerous collaboration with Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) also establishes additional drama Summer will likely not be able to handle on Y&R.
