Everybody who cares about Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) has been warning him for almost a year not to get involved with Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) because she can never change and has been snowing him all this time. Whether that is true or not still remains to be seen, but Jack does not care. He sees a future for himself and Diane and he is going to just go for it.

This week, Jack and Diane are both at the Abbott cabin in a quest to keep her safe from Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) and the mood just hits Jack, so he proposes marriage to a very stunned Diane.

“Diane is quite surprised by Jack’s spontaneous proposal,” Head Writer Josh Griffith said in the March 6, 2023, issue of Soap Opera Digest. “It’s hard for Diane to process Jack’s proposal as it’s been a moment she’s dreamed of for a very long time. Jack is overwhelmed at how happy he is with Diane and that the timing has finally aligned for them to be together.”

The Young And The Restless Updates – Jack Abbott Even Has A Ring

While the proposal seemed to come out of nowhere, Jack actually has a ring ready and waiting and Diane isn’t quite sure what to say. She wants to marry Jack and live happily ever after as she has always dreamed, but she still worries about what Jeremy can do to her and the people she loves.

“Jeremy is a dangerous threat to Jack and Diane’s happiness,” Griffith said. “This weighs heavily on Diane as she considers Jack’s proposal. If marrying Jack will do more harm than good to the man she loves. Jack will be shocked by her response, as will Ashley and Phyllis when they learn of his proposal — and Diane’s decision.”

Will her decision change their opinion of her? It could make difference as to whether Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) ends up living in her own home or not.
