General Hospital (GH) Spoilers: Esmé Calls Her Baby Ace – Elizabeth Fears Esmé’s Memories Triggered?

General Hospital: Esmé Prince’s (Avery Kristen Pohl)

General Hospital (GH) spoilers and rumors tease that Esmé Prince’s (Avery Kristen Pohl) memories may be getting triggered and she may soon come out of her traumatic amnesia. If Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) finds out Esmé’s given birth and called her baby “Ace” (uncredited infant) at GH, she’ll be afraid she’ll remember the rest.

General Hospital Spoilers – Elizabeth Baldwin Confessed

Elizabeth couldn’t handle her guilt anymore for helping her longtime friend Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) with Esmé’s captivity in the north tower of Wyndemere. She gave her prenatal care and did what she could to make sure her pregnancy progressed with no major problems. But after finding out she jumped off the parapet after setting her room on fire, it likely got to her, realizing the desperation that took.

But what it all boils down to, no matter what Esmé did prior to her captivity, Nikolas holding her captive was wrong. Even if she had been The Hook, he should have called the police to come get her, not imprisoned her himself, and so Elizabeth confessed all to the PCPD.

General Hospital Updates – Both May Be “Off The Hook”

Both Elizabeth and Esmé may be “off the hook” if Esmé continues having amnesia. She can’t be prosecuted if she can’t remember or answer for the charges she’s accused of, and with Nikolas “missing” there’s nothing to back up Elizabeth’s story. But during the time that Elizabeth took care of pregnant Esmé, she named, or perhaps nicknamed, her baby “Ace” – for “ace in the hole”.

General Hospital: Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst)

Recently, she referred to her newborn as “Ace” to Mac Scorpio (John J. York) but didn’t know where it came from –it just came out. That is a classic sign of memories coming to the surface, called “triggering”-and Elizabeth knows exactly what that is, having gone through it herself for the past year.

Esmé Prince Will Be Redeemed

According to a recent interview on “That’s Awesome” Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson’s podcast, Avery Pohl alluded to her character’s rebirth. Her amnesia and her fear of her monster parents, Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) and Heather Webber (Alley Mills) are very real. The police have nothing to substantiate her kidnapping except the scorched Christmas ornament found on her when she climbed, shivering and wet on the Haunted Star.

But if Esmé does regain her memories, in particular those of her captivity by Nikolas, that will substantiate Elizabeth’s story. On the other hand, if Esmé is redeemed like alluded to on the podcast, perhaps neither she or Elizabeth will do any time.
