The Young and The Restless (Y&R) spoilers and updates tease that Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) is pushed too far when she realizes the kind of man Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) has become. Will she call it quits with Nate for good when she sees greed instead of idealism in him?

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – He’s Changed

Elena has been seeing that since Nate left medicine and became involved with business that he’s changed, and not for the better. She doesn’t like that he is working with the Newmans against the better interests of his own family, and even tried warning him that he’d lose in the end. Victoria Newman (Ameila Heinle) may have made him big promises of a CEO position at Chancellor-Winters when she takes it over, but Nate may just be the means to her end.

Nate’s idealism and wanting to save patients and the world has been infected by greed and commercialism. Elena mourns the man that he once was, fears he will never be again, and says she doesn’t even know him anymore.

The Young And The Restless Updates – Not A Man She Can Be Proud Of

The fact of the matter is, Nate is not a man that Elena can be proud of anymore, and however sad that is, it is just as true. They have gone two radically different ways in their thinking, their ambitions, and their personalities even, and the one-upmanship Nate is displaying towards Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) seems insane. Nate wants to make things work out with Elena, but if he continues on the path he’s on, she can see it’s not going to work out. Now she sees that he’s becoming a cutthroat businessman, with no family loyalty to Devon and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) at all. The move he is about to make concerning their company going public is borderline criminal, at the very least unethical and he’s not the man she used to know.

Can’t Rescue Him

Elena can’t rescue Nate from the path he’s on and feels like she has to warn his family of his intentions. He’s playing the part of a corporate spy and they’re worried about Devon’s birth father when they should be worried more about his cousin. He’s played right into Victoria’s hands and she may well be using him and then he won’t have his family to back him if it doesn’t work out.

He’s already crossed lines with Devon and getting ready to cut ties that he may not want to be cut and Elena can take no more. Elena tells Nate he’s on his own and if he makes a mistake that costs him his family, she will not be around to pick up the pieces.
