EJ believed that Sami had left Salem to get distance from him but Sami had been kidnapped. EJ believed that Lucas kidnapped Sami but evidence came to light that proved that Lucas was innocent. EJ does not know that Lucas is the one who kidnapped Sami. EJ may be able to find a way to get Sami back if the truth about Lucas comes out.
