The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers and updates tease that ‘she said yes’ when Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) proposed today to Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes). These two fan faves have been through heck and back and we hope they do get a happily ever after in Genoa City, Wisconsin.
Fairbanks talked to Soaps.com about Teriah and we have some of her dishes here. Keep reading to find out what the actress thinks about this super special couple.
Fairbanks loves that the characters lead very full lives. For example, “Tessa is a pop star. She could be dealing with eating disorders or crazy fans.”
She added, “Mariah and Tessa talk a lot about how much they are in love, and that’s wonderful and something that’s still very underrepresented on television, two women being in love. But there’s also more to them than their relationship.”
But Fairbanks also acknowledged that the couple’s relationship is significant on daytime television. She said of the pair’s bond: “There are people in the audience who have maybe never seen themselves and their lives depicted in this way. Honestly, I feel very honored to be a part of something like that. To make anyone feel seen is a really spectacular thing that you don’t often get to do as an actor.”
Fairbanks concluded, “To me, true representation is allowing this couple to go through good times and bad. To let them experience absolutely everything that any other couple on the show would.”
The show has done that in spades. Remember the time Tessa was a hot mess, stuffing cash into a teddy bear and hiding it from Mariah? More recently Mariah was the victim of a kidnapping. The couple has encountered and survived multiple rocky roads but it looks like they have what it takes to stay the course.
This is not to say that the next few weeks and months won’t be uneventful. For one thing, Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) is in town. He is Mariah’s brother and Tessa’s ex. By the way, he looks at her he is definitely not over Tessa and some people have begun to notice this. Will he come between the lovebirds? Tell us what you think happens next with Teriah Y&R fans!
