How can Victoria convince Ashland to protect the man whose efforts exposed his backstory? At some point in the plot, Ashland may conclude that any form of regular interaction with Billy, beyond raising Villy’s children, is counterproductive.

Vashland represents a life-altering personal and business merger. Ashland’s fall into love with Victoria led him to pursue treatment. That decision helped to extend, if not save Ashland’s life.

Victoria is the Chief Executive Officer of the merged company that includes Locke Communications. So, Ashland must persuade his wife not to allow her sympathy for Billy to influence business decisions.

Protecting Billy Abbott From Himself

Billy continues to demonstrate that he is incapable of imploding. Even if his plan works to some degree, he will have pursued a revenge course that will produce repercussions. No overall good can come from that.

Victoria has long served as Billy’s protector. But protecting Thompson’s character from himself has always been a losing proposition for all involved.

Ashland is Victoria’s husband and main business partner, with Victor being the true controller of Newman-Locke. So, Victoria needs to avoid helping Billy attack Adam and Victor because if she does Vashland could be destabilized, and her brother and father will not respond well.
