Bridgerton Spoilers: Netflix Hit Is Giving Corsets A Much-Needed Boost
Bridgerton spoilers say that everyone wants to dress like a Bridgerton or Featherington these days. That’s because there’s a new report that suggests many fans of the hit Netflix show are helping boost corset sales as they can’t get enough of all the regency-era fashion on the show.
The hugely popular Netflix series Bridgerton tells the story of eight close-knit siblings of the powerful Bridgerton family as they attempt to find love during the Regency era in England. Here’s what you need to know.
Bridgerton Spoilers: Netflix Hit Is Giving Corsets A Much-Needed Boost
According to new reports, ever since Bridgerton made its debut back on Christmas Day, retailers from both Etsy and Corset story have seen an uptick in traffic. What’s more, Orchard Corsets have reported an increase in sales since the show began airing. Apparently, people are so interested in buying corsets during lockdown that traffic grew by 70 percent on their site.
The site also pointed out that they’ve noticed more views, which is unusual for the retailer, too. Etsy points out that they have seen an increase of 90 percent in searches for corsets in the past three months, compared to the same period this time last year. Of course, there’s much speculation that this all has to do with the vast popularity of Bridgerton.
Meanwhile, some eagle-eyed fans have also noticed a glaring error in the show. The drama series is set in the 1800s but some Twitter fans have pointed out that there was a painted yellow line in a scene with a horse-drawn carriage running a corner on a cobbled road. The lines actually indicate parking restrictions and were not conceptualized in the U.K. until 1947. If that weren’t enough, fans also noticed that there was a telecoms manhole in another scene.
