Toy Story 4 Introduces New Trailer and Characters
The new Toy Story 4 full-length trailer is here! The fan-favorite Disney Pixar film sees Woody and his friends take on an adventure with a new gang of toys that will be introduced on the big screen this summer.
According to the premise, Toy Story 4 begins when Bonnie adds a reluctant new toy called Forky (Tony Hale) to her room. A road trip adventure commences alongside old and new friends as they show Woody (Tom Hanks) how big the world can be for a toy.
Among other new faces in the film include Gabby Gabby (voiced by Christina Hendricks). She’s an adorable, talking pull-string doll from the 1950s. There’s also Duke Caboom (Keanu Reeves), a toy based on Canada’s greatest stuntman from the 1970s, and Giggle McDimples (Ally Maki), a miniature plastic doll from the 1980s Giggle McDimples toy line.
Directed by Josh Cooley (“Riley’s First Date?”) and produced by Jonas Rivera (“Inside Out,” “Up”) and Mark Nielsen (associate producer “Inside Out”), there’s a new message that the film’s creators have for fan: purpose. In other words, everything in the world has a purpose, which is a dilemma that Forky is trying to figure out. Is he a utensil, or is he a toy? Fans will find out soon enough.
Cooley told Entertainment Weekly in an interview last year,
“A toy’s purpose is to be there for its child. But what about toys that are made out of other objects? Forky is a toy that Bonnie made out of a disposable spork, so he’s facing a crisis. He wants to fulfill his purpose as a spork, but now has a new toy purpose thrust upon him.”
Toy Story 4 will hit theaters nationwide on June 21, 2019. It’s without a doubt that many Disney and Pixar fans are already counting down the days until they get to see this film!
