Jacqueline MacInnes Wood Shares Sweet New Photo Of Rise And Their Family Pup

A lot of people would agree that there’s nothing cuter in this world than seeing a newborn baby snuggling up with a family pet. Others, however, will say that the last thing a mom or dad should do is allow their pet to get so close to a baby. Actress Jacqueline MacInnes Wood, who just gave birth to her son Rise, has a lot to say about the matter.

After many critics posted comments about how Jacqueline’s dog Ja’mie shouldn’t be so close to her baby, she took to her Instagram account to defend herself. The Bold and the Beautiful star is a huge dog lover and animal advocate that maintains pit bulls like Ja’mie are safe to keep around children.

Sharing a pic of Ja’mie snuggling up to Rise, who was born just last week, Jacqueline wrote,

“When Ja’mie met Rise the first thing she did was gently lick his feet. They have been inseparable ever since. She think he’s her baby. If he cries, within seconds Ja’mie is there to check on him and to give him sweet kisses. My heart melts. Pit bulls get such a bad rep. And sadly people think they were bred to fight but in actuality they were bred to watch over children. The “Nanny Dog” If you wanted to keep your children safe, the pit bull was the most faithful and loving dog of any dog breed, especially with children. They are strong and loyal and love children. If your child had a pit bull dog as a pet, you felt that they were safe. So what happened?”

She finished off her caption with the hashtag #blametheownernotthebreed and is encouraging her fans to adopt and not shop for family pets.

The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on the CBS network.
