Olivia Wilde: My Bump is a Badge of Pride
Appearing on the cover of the May 2014 issue of Lucky magazine, Olivia Wilde opens up about her pregnancy and how it has changed her body.
“I just thought, oh I’m going to hide this forever. But I ended up getting kind of excited to show the bump, as a badge of pride,” the Rush actress tells. “Like ‘I’m a woman! Look at me making a human! I am a goddess!'”
Wilde admits being pregnant has been good to her bust section.
“I’m like, double d, hello! I’ve never been in thissection of the bra store! I’ve been flat-chest-ed my whole life, so it’s a wonderful new world,” she jokes.
Pregnancy has also changed her on the inside too.
“Pregnancy does shed away all of the bullshit. It gives you more empathy because you look at everyone and you think, you were a baby!” she told, adding, “Pregnancy brings you into this sort of commune—you feel connected to women in a way that you never have.” Not to mention the mother-baby bond that forms: “He’s moving around in there and no one else can tell—it’s a little secret friendship.”
Wilde and fiancé Jason Sudeikis are expecting their first baby together in May.
