Mariah Carey never thought she would experience motherhood.

In an interview with In Touch, the American Idol judge explains when she met Nick Cannon her life became more than just about her career.

“I never thought I’d experience motherhood,” she admits. “My career was my life.” But all that changed when she met Nick. “When you find the right person, you [want to] go through it,” she tells.

Now parents to 21-month-old twins Moroccan and Monroe, Carey tells that they are learning to embrace the unique personalities of their little ones.

“He’s my little buddy,” the singer admits of her son, Moroccan. “We watch movies together. He can be a little more aggressive, but not in a bad way — he’ll give his sister a little tap when she’s trying to give him a hug. Monroe is just a sweetie.”

Carey admits she couldn’t be happier.

“I’m so in love,” the mom admits of her new family. “Every moment is incredible.”
