Have The Ultimate Sea View In A Glass-Bottomed Eco-Hotel Suite

Anthénea

Anthénea is a fully equipped luxury pod that floats in the middle of the ocean, where you can watch the fish go by.

Travel in the time of COVID-19 can be stressful, but what could be more relaxing than staying in a floating glass-bottomed eco-hotel suite, surrounded by the ocean? Not only would you experience social distancing at its best, but also help the environment along the way.

Anthénea Eco-Hotel Suite

Imagine spending a night under the stars, in the middle of the ocean, in this unique eco-hotel suite. The luxury pod runs on solar energy and discharges clean water while offering the ultimate experience for its guests. Anthénea offers 360-degree views of the surrounding ocean. But it also has a glass bottom, allowing guests to relax and watch the schools of fish swimming by.

The company that built the eco-hotel suite was inspired by something similar to the 1977 James Bond film, “The Spy Who Loved Me.” This made them want to create something futuristic and incredible in the way of unique accommodations.

Anthénea Unveiled In The Port Of Trébeurden, Brittany, France

The first of its kind, Anthénea was recently unveiled in the port of Trébeurden, nestled on the pink granite Brittany coast in France. The eco-hotel suite has an outward-facing alcove, as well as a solarium for sunbathing and al fresco dining and can seat twelve guests.

Short-term rentals are currently open and the company says they have had a huge demand so far. While at present, there is only one pod, plans are in place for the first deliveries of international sales, hopefully starting in spring 2021. This means that more of the unique Anthénea pods will start popping up in various locations all over the world.

Anthénea

It may look small from the images, but Anthénea is a 540 sq ft vessel. It has been designed to follow the sun, taking power via its five automatically rotating solar panels. The master bedroom includes an extra-large bed, while the pod offers sea-water tubs for comfortable bathing.

The pod also has a panoramic kitchen with all modern conveniences. So far guests have been thrilled with the accommodation, being able to see the sea and fish swimming by from the heart of an eco-hotel suite.

At the top of the pod is a butterfly door that opens to the world and offers breathtaking panoramic views from the open rooftop. While onboard, guests can also put their feet in the water, or dive down to visit the marine life below.

The company says that because Anthénea is certified as sea-worthy, it can sail along in slow discovery mode. Onboard guests can drop anchor wherever they please, while no special navigational skills or licenses are needed.

The experience doesn’t come exactly cheap, as eco-hotel suite rental prices start from €290 (US$336) per night for two people. More information about the Anthénea eco-hotel suite can be found on the company’s official website. See more of the pod in the video included below.
