The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Holden’s World Shattered & Cane Out for Revenge

The Young and The Restless: Holden Novak (Nathan Owens)

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Holden Novak (Nathan Owens) had a sit-down with Lily Winters (Christel Khalil). But that conversation about Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) was purely setting up a big reveal.

Buzz indicates that Malcolm Winters (Shemar Moore) is Holden’s biological father. Dr. Stephanie Simmons (Vivica A. Fox) is the go-between because she’s his mother.

Viewers who have watched this soap opera for many years appreciate when its rich history is mined. Such is the case as Holden’s backstory is created in front of the fans’ eyes.

Malcolm Winters Has Two Children

Malcom wasn’t believed to have any children during the first part of his original run on this show decades ago. But a staggering reveal included his admission of having cavorted with Lily’s mother, the supposedly late Drucilla Winters (Victoria Rowell). More on the use of the adverb supposedly shortly.

The late Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) was crushed when he learned that he wasn’t Lily’s father. The fact that his brother, of all people, held that honor devastated and caused him to turn bitter for a significant period during one of the more memorable storylines in that era.

Drucilla was later believed to have perished while she was out of the country on a fashion shoot. But her body has never been found. So, there’s always hope that Dru, one of Y&R’s all-time great characters, who was portrayed by a great actor, Rowell, can be found alive.

In the meantime, Malcolm and another character, Stephanie, who was on the show in the mid 1990s, are confirmed as Holden’s parents. That circles back to Novak’s character warning Lily about Cane’s frazzled state of mind.

Lily Winters Dealing With Multiple Family Issues

Lily seemingly didn’t anticipate Cane reacting as he has. But she should have expected him to be angry.

THe Young and The Restless: Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn)

Flynn’s character wants nothing to do with Lily after he learned that she conspired with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) to fool him. That ruse was intended to pressure Cane to do Victor’s bidding in an effort to get Newman Enterprises back from Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford).

She wants to make amends with Cane and realizes the impact losing the twins also has had on him. So, dealing with all of that and then learning that Holden is her brother through Malcolm is intense.

Cane Ashby’s Ally Goes Beyond Business

Holden has been Cane’s go-to guy. He remained secretly employed when everyone in town thought he’d been fired.

The rejection of Cane’s job offer was accepted. He understood that Holden didn’t want to compromise Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) and appreciated the delicate situation he would have been put into.

Looking ahead, Holden’s blood bond with Lily and his business tie to Cane appear to offer hope. That family issue will drive plenty of talk between Lily and Holden.

Along the way, Owens’ developing character could prove to be the one person who can help broker peace between his former boss and newly realized sister. Cane should consider Holden to be part of his family as well, and that could be a wild card factor.
