The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Time For Matt Story To Wrap – Nick’s Impaired Condition Is Dangerous

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) was set free and is threatening the Newman family. Viewers need the newest development in this storyline to move quickly or to a satisfying climax to retain believability.
Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) short-circuited his recovery from a broken femur by ridiculously checking himself out of the hospital shortly after he arrived there. That led to him apparently taking multiple doses of the illicit substance he appears to have obtained through Matt.
It’s not that Matt gave Nick the drugs. Instead, it seems like Nick took them from him during the period when he was holding his returned nemesis hostage. That part of the story is good soap.
Roger Howarth Will Kill It Again
Daytime fans are familiar with Howarth’s body of work in this genre. The man is a total professional who created a standout version of this character that was previously portrayed by two other solid actors.
Eddie Cibrian (Matt) initially played Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) boyfriend, who went berserk. This character returned in disguise when Rick Hearst (Matt) became the recast. Russell Lawrence (Matt) very briefly played this role before Hearst joined the cast.
To think that Y&R’s writing staff mined the past isn’t surprising. That’s a staple in daytime. But to tap Howarth as the actor was inspired. He killed it so hard that viewers surely felt that the current Matt wasn’t going to stay in jail or not be heard from again.

Nick Newman Wants To Deliver His Form Of Justice
Nick wasn’t thinking straight when Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun) went to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). As devoted viewers recall, she warned him about Nick’s wild rantings.
Morrow’s character intended to kill Matt at that point in the plot, and he’s revived that openly stated goal. But the characters he’s talking to and those watching on the other side of the screen know Nick’s not in his right mind.
This scenario leaves Nick vulnerable to being more easily manipulated by Matt or potentially captured. It feels like an inevitable showdown between these combatants will happen.
Who Is The Best Choice To Stop Matt Clark?
Sharon would have been the pick to outmaneuver Matt, just as she did Cameron Kirsten (Linden Ashby). However, that type of replayed climax could be dull or even forced.
Sienna just returned to town. That was no coincidence because it was timed to Matt’s release.
Unless there’s a major change of heart, Sienna won’t be revealed as Matt’s co-conspirator. She loves Noah Newman (Lucas Adams) and wants a healthy relationship with him, as opposed to her lie of a marriage to Matt.
Sharon providing assistance to Sienna would make sense. But here’s hoping Sienna is put in the lead and serves as the lady who gives Matt his just due.
